So it’s been awhile since I’ve been on here but I missed it here and wanted to get back into collecting like I used to, but I had to ask to get some opinions, I’ve got a E2 rainbow and growing up I always loved it and that’s why I continue use it as my daily driver, but I see the new SRX and like a kid in a candy shop I immediately wanted it. What I’d like to know is how does the E2, while be it a older model, compare to the new SRX?? Like I imagine it cleans better just due to the fact it’s a whole new model. Should I bite the bullet and buy a new one or wait till it makes it’s way down in price a bit before I get my new toy?

Well....... Rainbow announced just before the new SRX was released for sale that Rainbow was able to increase the performance of the new model by 30% in comparison to the previous models.

From the pictures posted and comments here. There have been other "improvements" depending what you consider improvements to the current model.

I'm sure at some point in the not so distant future you will come across one or more of the current Rainbows available for sale at a price point that is more agreeable.

I hope so it just looks really cool and I know I’ll enjoy it, I just can’t justify the new price of one for me right now when I’ve got something I know works great.

Upgrade to platinum e2 series. Its a very nice vacuum and by far the nicest e series.
I'd recommend that upgrade and wait a year or two to get the SRX unless you can afford it.

I wouldn't buy a rainbow SRX since they were recalled 🔥 and who knows if it's been fixed.

I have to wonder if you would gain better performance by getting a non-Rainbow power nozzle with your current Rainbow?

SRX or e series

If you say e series a wessell werk greatly improved it. I'm betting the SRX with the best power nozzle would perform well.
The e series power nozzles are meh.
My silver rainbow with wessell werk ebk 360 is a beast

The SRX models have a serious recall due to fire hazard from the circuit board. There is a fix from the factory (I imagine the next model with have a completely different cooling system for the board.

One of the 'performance increases' really isn't an increase at all. The "black" series has two suction fans. Making really great airflow. The new SRX has one fan, with tall middle blades. At the end of the hose, you don't feel as much suction as the "black" model. The mud that inevitable comes with using rainbows will lodge in this single fan, creating vibration and noise like on the first of the two speed models with their shallow fan (this was changed after one year).

I wouldn't recommend buying the SRX right now. Wait a year or so for all the problems to be solved.
