Well I finally lucked out and found a 2 speed rainbow for a decent price. I started with my D3, then upgraded to a D4SE PE, then a single speed E series. All have been great machines but I wanted to have the air purify mode as I have bad allergies and sinus problems. Seen one listed on Facebook for $200, seller stated that sometimes when you lifted it up sometimes it would cut out. I thought that would be an easy fix for only $200. I almost didn’t get it, some other lady replied first but she never came for it so I lucked out. Had to make a 2 hour road trip as well but it was worth it. For not being very old the poor thing was kinda beat up. Blows my mind how someone could spend that kind of money on it, use and abuse, loose half the attachments and then turn around and sell it but hey their loss my gain. Had to take it apart down to the fans for a cleaning. Tried to isolate the issue with the electrical connection in the power nozzle, so far it seems reversing the positions of the wands has solved that problem. If it becomes necessary will buy new wands later. The rear door is missing and the lighted basin does not work but otherwise it’s wonderful. I plan on getting the basic attachments and at least the Rainjet since I have a lot of bare floors now.

Are two speed rainbows hard to find? I've got a two speed E series in my exact town, about 4 miles away for $100. I didn't wanna pay that much for a type of vacuum I've never used. Should I buy it? Are they rare? How much could I resell it for?

Yes there fairly hard to find at a good price.
The issues can be fixed easily.
Yes you can resell it for $600-$1000 and you will get it. I sold mine for $815.
Nice vacuum.

Replace the wands, if you look at the pins of the wands you will see that they have a wear pattern in them due to arcing. This has been a resolved issue and should still be covered under warranty due to the amount of issues that they have had.  Otherwise, Great find at $200!
