How do I find out what year my vacuum was manufactured? I inherited it from my late grandmother. It is a model S3509, Hoover Futura, Canister (dark green) vacuum. The label says the headquarters is in Canton, Ohio, so it’s definitely old, but I can’t figure out how old. It still works wonderfully! I started looking into the history of Hoover and now would like to know. I’m thinking it could be from the 70’s or 80’s. Thank you for any insight!

The Futura was introduced in the early 90's. I think with Hoovers you check the month/date by looking at the first 4 digits of the serial number. So, 0894 would be August 1994.
