I've got a G5 with a noisy TechDrive. It makes a little ticking noise when I push it back and forth in neutral. It's made this noise ever since I've had it, which is about five years. I've heard it said it's the TechDrive starting to go out. I got a replacement last fall but I've never gotten around to putting it on. We'll see...

The gears are slipping. If you upgrade tech drive go sentria 2 or newer.
If you are mechanically inclined take it apart. I have a YouTube video saved of a 9 year old kid take a tech drive out in less than five minutes. I'd take pics make sure it goes together. You open up the internals of the tech drive you will find the problem and can probably fix it. Les | ||
