I’ll take a guess: one of those round Sunbeam canisters from the 1960’s with that gigantic fan inside?

That vacuum brand in question is none of the ones you have just listed. But the guess is really good!!!!! Think Late 90s to around 2000. It is quite rare.

The vac in question may be considered a plastic vac by some, but it was the brand's top of the line for a few years.

Yep!!!!!

It is a Dirt Devil from the 90s, before they severely went down in their quality, nowadays they look like nothing more than toys in my opinion. Now to guess which Dirt Devil?

MVP or canister or upright featherlite?

You got it!!!!!

The Ultra MVP, probably one of Dirt Devils best machines made. Short lived sadly due to a bit of fragility, but it was a very powerful cleaner. The TOL with all of the bells and whistles!!! It was their answer to the Eureka Excalibur. Dual headlights, dual motor for the brushes, a hide a hose system. The beginning of Dirt Devil's second gen of cleaners, ie swivel glide/vision, which had similar features. I am so happy to soon call one my very own.

Congrats on the win!

That vacuum was actually only an hour's drive from me, but I knew a collector was bidding on it so I left it alone (one of my rules). Plus, his shipping was too high for such a short distance anyway.

Hope you enjoy it! I actually had an MVP a long time ago, and I got rid of it (this was before I was a collector) and I shouldn't have.

I had an MVP like that about 4 years ago, but sold it at a garage sale to someone who needed a vacuum. Those were also Dirt Devil TOL machines. But I believe these are a little harder to find!

Congrats!

The ultra mvps have the most airflow at the nozzle i've seen from a clean air design. Unfortunately all that power combined with a weak brushroll motor often causes the brushroll to stall. So much potential in the design, hindered by lack of torque.

And, who wants a lack of torque?

I know I don't.
Good luck with your machine.

Thank you very much. Going to take extra special care of this one. And with how long the search took, I will probably never sell it.

It probably wont get too much use to help preserve it.

Weak Brushroll motor?

These use a normal GS electric/Lamb brushroll motor similar to that used in many power heads. It’s not the motor, it’s actually the belts. Royal/ Dirt Devil is not very well known for having the best quality belts.

Strange to think this is now in the vintage section.

But it's over 20 years old it belongs.

Honestly, that weirds me out too. I would usually rather put stuff like this in the contemporary section, but it gives the option to label it as a 80s/90s post and this particular model is a 97.
