Upside-down photo at the cash register. I love the guy in sleeveless shirt. I like how his hat covers his face.
I'm guessing a bag over there face aka buttaface everything is good but tee face.

I've never seen Oreck magnesium bags at Walmart. I hope since some locations are carrying the vacuum. I'm hoping Walmart would carry the bags as well.

The upside down pictures are an iPhone thing. I've had the same problem myself.

I noticed this! In fact I was going to make a post about it but forgot. Whats weird is that the ones here had those little bug tag things on them.

I actually have a Galaxy note 10+... So it's not just an iPhone thing then. I uploaded them as a verticle photo, but that's how they ended up. Assumed you'd get the idea, so I left them since I can't change it. Im 99% sure that these magnesiums are just to assist TTI in selling them off. I don't believe oreck is making a long term deal with Walmart. The vacuum came with 3 bags. If you go on walmart.com you can look up oreck RS (I typed in oreck magnesium and found nothing) and they will show that only 4 or less are available at your local store. No shipping is available because it's in store only. Amazon also has this for 249 and it is sold by and shipped by Amazon. I told myself that if I felt it was just average I wasn't going to keep it. And I'm keeping it, I'm pleasantly surprised.

I have a Galaxy S8 that I've been using for a while now and I haven't had a problem with uploading pictures on here until now. Probably just a website issue hopefully.

Anyways that being said, mine had started carrying the Magnesium as well. I think this is the first time I've seen a department store selling Orecks since Target sold the XL Signature and XL Singature Plus but I could be wrong because I don't remember seeing other models after that one time in department stores.

Yes!

in my video I just posted on YouTube, I mentioned that also. Probably 10 plus years ago Target did sell those oryx, I believe they sold them in a power team possibly? For like three or four hundred dollars? All I remember is they were all black with either orange or blue font. I really believe that it's because orrick had a surplus of these similar to how Hoover had a surplus of Hoover WindTunnel self-propelled a few years back because I got one for $80 brand new at big lots. I went back to Walmart today with my mom and they still had three of these on the shelf. I don't think that Walmart will be selling these, I think that this is just a way to get rid of them. As oddly designed as this machine is, I didn't expect it to clean as well as it does! If you have the means, I'd highly suggest picking one up!

The only thing I find a little weird about the Magnesium RS is that it has a little battery in the handle and the switch is actually a remote that tells the vacuum to turn on to high or low speed. The earlier version (LW-100) just had a chrome button in the middle of the handle to turn it to high or low.

I have a pixel 4xl the note is slightly better because it was released later. The pixel camera is better though. Its resolution of it's pics until recently was highest out there. It rotates photos most recently. I'm guessing higher photo reduction goods up the photo loader on this site.

Went to my local Walmart (Central Colorado) today.
Didn't see a single Oreck product. Disappointed that there's a LW1500rs for sale.
I had one back in the day and flipped it to a customer I wish I had kept it now.

I HATE to shop there, but, sometimes you have to. They had a LOT of Oreck vacuums there. They had very few Hoovers, however.
I always do a quick scan.
I DID see quite a few Hoover Pulse, and cruze vacs at Ollies. Never a pleasant shopping experience there, but, at times, some great bargains.
I've gotten gazebos for the VCCC convention in 2022 there. I figured it would be better to have some of these items I'll use rather than to rent them . I also will have the tables, lights, etc. The only thing we might have to rent would be chairs.
But, I always scan the vacuum aisle at Wallyworld!!!!
HATE that store!! And, I never use HATE, as, it is a very harsh word.

That's odd

johnsmith96's profile picture
I'm surprised they don't have any at your store. It seems like many people have 4 at their local Walmart.

That's awesome about Ollie's! I was there yesterday and also saw the Hoover you're talking about, several sharks, and the eureka floor rover. I went to buy a spin mop or one of the new mops that are flat and you wring it out by sliding it in and out of the bucket. Alas they had NONE!

Umm

lesinutah's profile picture
Vacuum devil you may think you regret getting rid of the oreck but your not. I don't think it's possible to own a central vac in central Colorado and even remember the oreck.
I do wish more Hoover's should be made. They were America's giant for a long time. Oreck owners lived a long time and they could pick up their bowling ball with it.
Meh.

Found my Oreck Magnesium at my Walmart for $189

Wow guys!

I didn't find this thread as it was way down on the list and I've not been around this site for a while since the house fire.

I did however finally venture into a Walmart (the Pandemic has kept me home) anyway, when I walked to my favorite aisle.. there they were Four Boxes of the Oreck Magnesium RS!! They were priced $249 but with Yellow Clearance Stickers marked down to $189 so I jumped on it and put the best looking box in my cart and checked out. If I was back in my home (it's still under construction from the fire) I would have probably bought two of them just to keep one, new in box. Anyhow, my Walmart and Four other Walmart stores within 40 minutes from my house, all showed these lovely Oreck Magnesium RS vacuums in stock.

I had just days before been looking at the Magnesium and the Oreck Elevate Conquer because I was trying to decide which Oreck from my lost collection I would replace. I had the Oreck Edge in mint condition that sadly I doubt I can ever replace, so I went on to look for my Oreck Forever Series Gold and no luck finding a reasonable priced, like new model. So I did replace my Oreck Axis with the bright purple bag but sadly had to return TWO of them as the LED headlights were not working.. first one had no LED lights working, second replacement had only one of the three LED lights working. So after that I had given up and was going to just spend the $600 bucks to buy an Elevate Conquer since they are one of the few Oreck STILL made in the USA. My second choice was to almost order the Oreck Magnesium RS (Until I saw they are made in China) and I would have had to pay $459 bucks for it on Oreck.com

I also bought the Oreck Ultimate CC1600 Handheld Bagged Canister (on sale at Amazon) to go along with this beautiful Magnesium so I have the set.

Again, I collected ALL kinds of vacuums, so if you do not like Oreck, please don't send hate my way Lol, I just enjoy them and wanted to share my good luck at finding mine at Walmart already on Clearance at $189. That is worrisome to me as it appears they are already not selling well at Walmart. Oh well, I'm just glad I found mine and that it was reduced in price. Thanks to everyone on this thread and for sharing, because if I'd not already found this nice Oreck Magnesium at Walmart, I would have for sure gone and found it after reading this thread.

Take care everyone and I hope you and all your family are safe and staying healthy.

Patrick

Thank you Huskyvacs!

I still haven’t decided what I’m going to do or if I’m going to try and replace my vacuum cleaner collection.

I may just decide to go back to buying a vacuum occasionally that peeks my interest of a bargain price I can’t refuse! 😂

I do know I’m grateful for insurance and obviously as I’ve shared, so grateful we all made it out safely!

I’ve been eager to share some wonderful vacuum company experiences.. but not sure if anyone would care to hear?

I wrote to my favorite vacuum companies after our home burned and shared my story, and three vacuum manufacturers really went out of their way to help me and let me know I’m a valued customer.

Any thoughts from you guys?? Should I share and start a thread about my awesome experience??

Thanks, Patrick

It's so sad that TTI (Hoover) is dumping these at Wal-Mart. Oreck has stopped making repair parts for these so they are kind of like an orphan. I stocked up on several packs of bags for the customers who buy it at wal-mart and then don't know where to get bags.

I wondered what the deal was with why Oreck was popping up at Walmarts, as I thought they were an exclusive brand.

I almost had one a few years back on eBay that was missing the outer bag, but it was a bidding war and I lost out, it went for about $60 at that time.

It fits into my quirky vacuum interest with its open frame and thin profile.

@Patrick - My advice is just postpone dedicated collecting & hunting for awhile until you feel ready again - but if you just randomly find some kind of deal, or something drops in your lap, take the opportunity.

And sure, some positive energy would be nice to have on the forum. There's already a vacuum company hate thread going (lol) so I think a praise thread would be a good counter to that.

Patrick,

If it isn't too painful I'd be interested in hearing anything you'd care to share with regards to the house fire. You're safe and that's all that really counts. The material goods...meh, replaceable for the most part. I ll go look for your earlier posts about this, I usually hang in the vintage section so today is the first I've seen about this tragedy. So sad. Yes I'd be curious to learn what the various companies you reached out to did for you.I'm glad you stuck around here and trusted that you could share this unfortunate, devastating event with the membership. There are many here who really do care. Stay safe, there are better days ahead. Billy

I have one of these that does not have the remote switch on the handle.Mine is two speed.Do like this one. Will see if mine has the magnesium body. Will have to visit wally world to get one of these.I have a pack of the brown Filtrete style bags.Got mine at the vac shop. They sold it to me at a closeout price. This is the ONLY Oreck that I have used who truly works well.It is powerful for its size. The orig price is a ripoff.

Is it any good?

Oreck I think have been sold off and turned into made in china crap now. I see a bunch of people here have caught the fever and went to Wal-Mart and bought one. Is it any good? I’m sure it will be fine for a few years and by the time it’s 5 to 10 years old will be due for replacement.

Don’t think I’ll ever stray from my all time favorite of Aerus/Electrolux but fun to see what you all think of this new Oreck? And does it do more than just carpet? Any attachments?

Jon

The Oreck Halo does have attachments, You can buy a canister seperatly with your oreck at your dealer, that one guy in my nearest oreck dealer who sold me that oreck commercial was a really nice man.

The Oreck Halo started off as an entirely different vacuum, the UV-ST made by Halo. It was then later rebadged as an Oreck (where Oreck in turn made false claims about its germ killing prowess which got the vacuum binned). It was never intentionally designed as an Oreck to start with though.

Oreck by tradition and as marketing, never makes a vacuum with attachments. You must buy the Buster hand vac if you want to clean furniture, upholstery, etc. Sometimes they sell them as a package bundle at a discount.

Oreck also has a backpack vacuum as well, which was mainly marketed for light duty commercial use.
