Hello everyone, I am happy that a lot of thrift stores are opening up once again, and I have been going around 2 times a week. This thread was created for everyone on the site who shops at thrift stores for vacuums to tell about best finds at thrift stores, recent thrift finds, and send pictures of the vacuum section of thrift stores. Recently, I bought a Hoover Breathe Easy self propelled Windtunnel. I also got myself a Royal Prince upright. I'll share pictures of the vacuum section of my local store next time I go. There tends to be around 6 or 8 uprights, no hand vacs. There was a Rainbow E series but it was $100 so I didn't want to buy it. Royal was $25.
Thanks, Garrett |

The UNO is a rare vacuum. The Rainbow is not worth $120. If it was a certified refurb by a vac store selling it, yes, but an untouched thrift store pile of junk in a box that they only plugged in for 10 seconds, nope.
Steamvac is one of the TOL shampooers Hoover had in that line. I have the base model. If I remember right, the brushes did not spin unless it was in the reclined position. Safety switch to prevent floor and motor damage. |

Thrift stores opened back up in this area several weeks ago but I have had little desire to go and browse for more junk I don't need. I've gone back a couple of times to the second hand book and music store I had been frequenting but I find I'm being a whole lot more selective about what I buy. I'm just not walking out with armloads of stuff the way I was a few months ago.

I usually look for vacuums I can cleanup and make a little money. Like I said I got an e series one speed from $15-$30 but it had every single attachment. The issue was carbon.brushes were bad. I'll have it fixed soon. I can probably get $300 for it but we will see because I've never sold a single speed.

So I went to the thrift store yesterday, and had to get some things. The picture below is the vacuum section of the thrift store (very cool store, two stories) and had a good amount, but only 1 new vacuum and 3 gone since last time. The only vacuums that left were a Hoover Windtunnel model, don't remember if it was bagged or bagless, a Bissell Powerforce Helix, and a Shark Navigator for $30! But, I was thinking some nights ago that it would be good to have a stick vac, but I'm a sucker for brushroll vacuums, so the Electrolux ErgoRapido (new style) came home with me, along with a fine condition Panasonic Jet Flo with a 10 pack of bags. The Jet Flo cleaned up really nice, was polished, and cleaned inside and out. The cord hook is broken, but I can fix that somehow. The hook is plastic, any ideas? It was $20 and the electrolux was $10, but since it was put up for sale 3 months ago, they have a thing where if something was put for sale a certain time ago, they'll give it half price, so this one was $5. If I had remembered that, or seen the signs that said that I would've gotten that eureka Smart Vac for $5 as well. I'll send specific pictures of the ErgoRapido and the Jet Flo later, as it takes a while to get photos from my mobile phone to my computer.
Thanks, Garrett

Those self propelled elites are rare? That one has been chillin there for a couple of months, I'd honestly only buy it if it was $10 or less, but I can go buy it and ship it to you or somebody if they want it. I can do that for all of the vacs in that picture and for future pics, as long as you pay for the shipping and the asking price at the thrift store. I won't charge more.
