I have a Hoover windtunnel self propelled made around October 2001, had it for 2 years and I've been having problems with the brushroll not spinning at a normal speed. It slows down when I lower the vacuum and tried many ways. First, back around January of this year I replaced the original brushroll with a new one because the brushes were getting worn out and short. Thought that would help but still slowed down. Then I got a new belt for the brushroll and still slowed down. Then I finally got a chance to take apart the base and look at the bearing pulley and give a little bit of lube. Didn't work. So I got a bearing pulley and replaced it and brushroll still spinning slow and finally I got a new idler arm and replaced the old one and brushroll still spinning slow. Anyone had this problem before? Any other ways to get the brushroll spin at a normal speed? Thanks 👍

The Self-Propelled Windtunnel uses two belts. Under regular use, replacing both belts every year or so will make a huge difference in how it cleans, as the worn belts will cause the brushroll to slow down easily. Did you replace both belts?

henrydreyfuss, just the brushroll belt. Might need to get a power drive belt. Brought the brushroll belt last month.

I'd start with replacing that other belt. I hope it does the trick!

Personally I would change both belts if you haven't in the past 6 months.
you might also consider getting a brush roller they're pretty inexpensive.
You can check your v belt with your brush roller I explained it in this video.
