Just for clarification, the Discovery II never included an electric hose from the factory. A SideKick adapter kit was available for the Discovery III that included a trapezoidal adapter with an auxiliary power outlet and a switch, a power cord with rubber straps, similar to what was used to electrify non-electric hoses back in the model G and early 1205 era, and a metal tipped handle for the hose. The Discovery II and Discovery III were almost identical in design and thus the adapter kit can also be used with a Discovery II. I lucked up on one of these kits shortly after I rescued my Discovery II from the curb and thus retrofitted it. At some point subsequent to the Discovery III, Electrolux uprights based on that design were given auxiliary power outlets from the factory and thus the adapter was no longer needed.
