Came home today to a great surprise from my other and best half...

Complete with its box and attachments. The only thing missing is the metal hose, which I hear is still at the store where this came from- so maybe it will arrive soon. If not, am still thrilled to add this beauty to the collection!

I'm not into 'lux stuff that old, but that sure is cool!

How old would that be?

Kevin

Congratulations on another immaculate machine.

LUX Z25

Hello....

From the middle part of England UK. You have a just pre ww2 Luton made vac. The 25s are still in relative abundance over here. The 25 had the longest production run of all the 'cylinder on ski's' types; 1933-49. Your hose is a genuine luton made hose for the z65 (1960-67) as the original rubber lined 25 hoses did tend to perish and become porous. The black floor brush with the swivel elbow is from the z30/55 models (1948-57) the fixed insert floor brush is for a 1950s uk made vactric.

I hope above info is useful.

Best wishes, Walter.

Thank you!

The information you provided is actually what I was hoping for in the comments!

I have a question for you. But first... The power cord that came with the machine had the male and female ends removed, so it’s useless. I’ve looked on eBay UK, but it always just filters everything to the US. the question is: are the power cords for these still available, and if so, do you know of a website that I may be able to visit so that I might purchase a cord for it? Or maybe you have a cord that you’d be willing to sell? Every time I do a search, it just filters everything to US spec, so I’m having a hard time finding the correct cord. I know I will need a voltage converter, and that won’t be a problem, but without the cord, the converter is also of no value.

I’m glad to know about the hose, and the other components. Again, thank you very very much for the information!

Thanks again!
Chris

flex to machine connector.

Hello Chris,

Did the seller actually remove the whole black bakelite housing?

What a pest that ebay seems to auto filter to the US only as over here ours shows UK,US,FRANCE,GERMANY and other European countries.

I do not know of a specific site for searching for old lux parts.

I might just have a spare connector, somewhere!!!

Regards, Walter.

It’s still there. It actually came from an old Electrolux (now Aerus) distributor. Came home with my better half and was a total surprise to me because the owner of the store for years refused to sell it, rejected offers of over $1,000 - and just a few days ago the owners son just gave it to us. So it was a very welcomed yet unexpected surprise. If you do happen to come across a cord, I’m more than happy to pay what’s involved in obtaining it. Or if you stumble across a website let me know.

I sincerely appreciate your responses. You can also email me: trajemoi25@aol.com

Thanks again! Chris.
