I saw one of these go up on Craigslist about 2 or 3 years ago in a rather rare bright red like most of the old dirt devils. This color variant doesnt seem too common for the first style visions. Though I also could've sworn I saw a machine at an office YEARS ago. Here's the common Maroon color.

Hey Hoover300!

Close but nope, there actually was a red version of the original swivel caster vision from 1999. Its a very rare color variant of the OG vision and I wish I showed more interest in it when I saw it. Would have definitely made a post about it sooner!

I used to have that toy, so I was shocked to see a red full size. I had the picture saved on my computer for a while.

Honestly the machine in question is rarer than say the Ultra MVP or Broom Vac, which are already hard to find. It is indeed a very real vacuum though. Going back on Craigslist to see if I can find it again.

When Dirt Devil makes non standard colors of their vacuums - they do it in such small amounts that especially after so many people throw them out, they become mega rare.

Usually the turquoise or teal color is rare for most of their vacuums normally issued in red.

Oh I believe it! This is definitely among one of Dirt Devils rarest, and I can confirm that it is real because I had it saved on my computer for quite some time because it was rather interesting! Much like how I had tried to find a rare Hoover elite model for the longest time, finally came across it again on Craigslist one day.

When I was growing up, my parents had the exact vacuum you ask about. Bright red and everything. They must’ve gotten it from Sam’s club because they love those club warehouses.

Since I got used to seeing that one so much, I always assumed that red was the standard color for that vac and that the marlins and blues were the rare ones. I guess it’s the opposite, because I can’t find even a picture of the bright red one. If you find one, please post a picture. It would be cool to see it again just for the nostalgia.

Hey broomvac!

Thats a cool childhood story, similar to my own actually. My mom had the maroonish red version of the Hoover Caddy Vac, which later turned out to be one of the more rarer variants of the machine. As opposed to the Purple and white colors.

Hey ralph123

Thanks for the link! Nope, thats not the one. It was a much older model, possibly from around 1999 or 2000. I saw it about two or three years ago on Kentucky's craigslist. This is definitely Dirt Devil's rarest machine, even moreso than the likes of the Ultra MVP, which there are 2 in almost great condition being sold off on eBay right now!!!!!

I was planning to buy that Ultra MVP. I probably have no chance that people know about it now tho. Maybe people can buy the other one with the broken bag door.
