The Lewyt Model 77. I really like its blue hammertone paint, and I was able to fashion an almost-original hose. But as with most woven hoses, it leaks really badly despite looking really nice. So I also made a silver vinyl hose for "real cleaning" that looks pretty nice.

Overall, I think its suction is somewhat lackluster, not terrible but not thrilling either.

Arlee likes the Mercedes wheels!

Nice, heavy duty looking machine.Today that could pass as a commercial machine-equip it with a grounded cord and plug-of course the metal body grounded.

Very nice

Charles,

Interesting the original hose has nearly the identical chevron pattern to Electrolux’s. I wonder if these companies were buying bulk hose pre made from a company and they both used the same vendor. They would just place an order for the coloring they wanted. Then all they had to do in their factories was cut a section off and mount their ends on it.

Your vinyl hose replacement looks very good, nice color. I’d have thought it was an original item.

The Lewyt Model 77 hose is identical to the Electrolux LX/LXI/E hose, except that it is not narrower at the handle end as the Electrolux hose is.
