Hi have a Dyson DC 59 that I use primarily for my kitchen floor and entry hall. I bought it new about 6 or 7 years ago.

I have found that it will no longer stay on when I put it on the higher power, MAX setting. As soon as I do, it shuts off in a few seconds. I have to wait about 5 or 10 min. and then it runs fine again, but only on the regular speed. The battery seems to charge fine and it will run for quite some time on the regular speed.

Ideas?

Have you ever changed the filters? I would assume it's a motor thermal cutoff from it getting too hot.

Might not be the same thing, but my V6 did that when it's battery went
