Greetings,

Today I received in the mail from Amazon a ten pack of Kirby Belts. They were listed as genuine and from the picture they looked OEM. When I received the belts the size was a lot smaller than my old belts, the sides had ribs on them unlike the smooth sides of my old belts, the pattern on the inside of the belt looked doubled up and not as deep and finally the print on the outside was gold and instead of being in triple it was only written one time.

Are these a new style or counterfeit? I apologise for not having the side by side pictures since I'm working tonight.

If anyone has received this style from a good source I would feel better since they appear to work just fine on my Avalir. I am just suspect of such a big difference in construction

Happy Memorial day vacuumland

Keith

They look identical to the belts I order directly through Kirby Company.

Those are for the g series and up. If you have a D80 or lower, you need the softer belts, which are not

ribbed. Try Kirby Needs on ebay, he has them and will tell you what models they fit.......

They usually won't tell you the models they go to. They say the knurled belts for all kirbys. You want non knurled belts. They also call them softer belts. There is like 4 part numbers for the belts.

This is the belts for older kirbys.

Those are definitely genuine Kirby belts. Remember that rubber belts stretch 1-2"inches once they're worn.

Well' I would have failed this one..lol
I'd have suspected #1 pic as OEM but #2 pic being a Knockoff not being smooth on its outside and its lettering not clear.
In most cases on knockoff products I've read about its generally the lettering thats the dead giveaway like misspelled or blurred wording like shown.

Some knockoff belts I ran across are easy to spot having only one layer of rubber like a rubber band vs OEM versions having layers of belts stacked together if viewing the edge of the belt. Generally why some knockoffs stretch/break on their first use while OEM belts last waaay longer.
I guess I better stop being so judgmental on Kirby letters now..lol

I'll be buying stuff directly from Kirby from now on I guess, I always bought from online vac stores without issues but two times now they pulled the ol' bait and switch on me so thats out for now anyway. Sorry folks.
Just went through it again on bags last week. Shows/Describes in details their ZVac cloth Universal F/G but sent me F only. Not a product/company issue, thats more dealer issue but oh well.. Got crickets when I contacted them about it, that was enough for me..Grrr!

Also' thats correct the older vacs without a transmission use the smooth not knurled belt, they are different part numbers to separate them. Also a 3rd different belt number for the polishing head, Kirby belt link below may help?
