Just wanted to share some pic of my new daily driver - Volta U238H. I got it from Gumtree give away section. running perfectly, it really was the peak of vacuum build quality and design in my opinion. A real green devil. From what I can gather it's a locally made version of the Electrolux 350E. What do you think?

So interesting that your vacuum says “ESP” for “Extra Suction Power”. This is a slogan we in North America saw on many upright Eureka vacuum cleaners in the late 1970’s and 1980’s. It was a copyrighted slogan owned by Sweden’s Electrolux company. Since this big multinational owned North America’s Eureka and Sweden’s Volta (also Germany’s Progress company) by that time, they could apply “ESP” to any cleaner made by any of their subsidiaries. In Canada, Eurekas were made in Kitchener, Ontario. Where was Australia’s Volta factory?

I love the design, graphics, and overall early 90s styling on it. Very nice. Also cool to see an Australia collector here - don't hear from too many on this site.

So amazing

To hear from someone literally so far away on the planet that it’s almost like another world there in Australia. I’ve often noticed that things there are so different because they are manufactured right there on the continent. Seems like it would be less costly to be made locally and provide an economy. Though it really depends on the trade economics. Here in the US so much we have in stores is made in China it’s ridiculous anymore because trade with China was so highly encouraged because they like our American cars there and that’s a big part of our countries economy.

Interesting to see a different product from what seems a whole other world, I’ve often wondered what’s popular in Australia.

Make me wonder what they use commonly in China and Japan and Russia.
