This was one of the first Electrolux canisters I ever purchased. I gave the first one to my sister and kind of regretted it later on . Well now she’s back 😊

Beautiful machine...

Yeah, the one I picked up from a dumpster a couple of months ago wasn't in nearly that good a shape.

And, fresh out of the Delorean...

Sorry to make some variation of the same joke every time you post a vacuum. But I just don't know how you do it without a time machine.
It's beautiful. I have an Epic 6500 in that color scheme.
Low mileage, I'm the second owner. But nothing like the condition of your machines.

Barry

Again, AWESOME ! If I could give you a YELP review it would be all positive but where would I find your profile? lol

I'm starting to get suspicious on how you do this.

This looks like the matching model to the Ultralux LX . Same colors and lighted pn.

Edgar it still astonishes me the way machines are misused and abused. I hope that you will be able to successfully restore it.

I reply:
Oh yeah, it was an easy fix. The only things really wrong with it were a missing screw from the generic hose, a missing knob from the bag eject control and somebody cut the cord off. I replaced the cord winder and the screw, disconnected the bag eject control, cleaned it up and while it's not the prettiest thing, it's good to go. If and when I ever get hold of a control knob, I'll reconnect the bag eject control and see if that works. The bottom line is the thing's got a whole lot of life left in it. Why somebody dumpstered it is beyond me. I'm just glad I came along when I did, knew what I was looking at and rescued it.

A fantastic find!

Without a doubt, fantastic...

Undoubtedly you are building a beautiful collection...I envy you as a fellow Electrolux lover!

My Mom has an Ambassador that is similar and my Dad got it free for her from the “Gift shop” at the town dump...a shed where people can leave perfectly good unwantables! The Ambassador is downgraded though, no lights, no automatic control and an unlighted PN.

Your comment about regretting giving your sister your previous diplomat is making me regret giving my Brother the Aerus Lux Classic I had last Christmas. Well it was either that one or my Marquise that doesn’t have a scratch or dent on it at all and since the Lux Classic is plastic, I figured it could take more abuse. My Brother also has a Silverado and it’s looking rough but it’s mostly just dirty. I should clean it on my next visit. He’ll probably think I’m strange for washing down and detailing his vacuum cleaner! But he also knows I’m into vacuums. But I could see him saying...who cares if it’s a little dirty...as long as it works.

I do agree with you, I don’t understand how people can beat up these vacuums so much. I’ve had my Silverado since 1994 as my regular daily vacuum, even my housekeeper used it and I used it to clean two other homes every two weeks as well for a few years when I cleaned for some friends and it doesn’t look much different than the day I bought it. Like you, just don’t get it.

Hi Keither,

Very nice as usual. To my thinking, you are a collector's collector. You have good taste, you have a high standard and are willing to wait for just the right one to come your way. No mystery, your collection is proof that your method works. What makes your collection so unique is the high percentage of factory fresh new in box, or pristine and hardly ever used machines. Doesn't get any better than that and I'm glad, not surprised, that your efforts continue to pay off. Kudos Keith!

Jon and Blaze thanks guys !

@ Bill : You know you've left me speechless :-) I really appreciate your kind and complimentary feedback :-) Collecting can be both joyous and daunting , but I cant think of anything else I would rather do ! Having guys like you all around is a huge fringe benefit to this hobby and I appreciate your support :-) Thanks Bill :-)
