Hey guys! I hope everyone is well. I wanted to share with you guys my latest find. I got this Miele S8 UniQ for only $20 yesterday on OfferUp. It was only about 30 minutes away so I just had to pick it up. All that was wrong with it was that there was one wire disconnected in the hose, other than that it is in superb condition. There’s only one minor scrape in the beautiful paint job and it has all of its small tools. I’ve noticed that spring tends to be a lucky time for vacuum buying, what have you guys seen recently as far as bargains go? I’m very happy I found this deal and I’m excited for what’s to come!

Wow...that is a deal!

How did you repair the wire in the hose? Seems like a very difficult repair....no?

That's awesome! You'll love it. I have the C3 with the auto-adjusting motor and it is fantastic. My wife initially "hated" the several Miele's I've bought, for various reasons, but now I see her using the C3 all the time with the parquet floor attachment. The canister with that attachment is about the best combo out there for hard floors money can buy... But we have both the electric and non-electric hose because the non-electric hose/tube is so much more lighter and maneuverable for that parquet attachment on hard floors/wood steps vs. the electric setup.

The breakage in the wire was in the hose cuff where the connection is made between the hose and canister body. The wire had come loose from one of the connection pins on the end of the hose, so all I had to do there was reconnect the wire. Four screws held on the plastic shroud and with those removed it pulls apart very easily. Once that was done it fired right up!

Wow...that was really a lucky break. We’ve all heard horror stories of trying to locate the electrical problem in an electrified hose or wand or power nozzle. Could have been a burnt or melted contact. I guess in the worst case you could always by a genuine replacement hose - not a bad investment considering what you paid for the whole cleaner! 🙂
