In an earlier post I included a wiring diagram I drew from tracing the unit's wiring in order to undo somebody's bypass hacks. Does anyone have a real factory schematic they would be willing to share? I am a retired DIY'er relatively new to vacuum repairing for my wife, not a business. I also repaired a Model G and did brush replacement on a Royal Model 993 to keep her favorite machines running.

I Doubt That There Are

Any published Lux Service Manuals out there.  I have checked from time to time depending on any rare issues I was having with my Luxes.  Part of the value proposition with purchasing an Electrolux was the visiting Electrolux man to service any issues and supply bags (and, of course, to try to sell the latest model.) They very closely controlled the whole value chain. I remember calling Electrolux for service and the service guy serviced the machine right in my living room.  The last thing they wanted was for the Electrolux customer to consort with an independent vacuum dealer who could steer you away from Electrolux.  So, controlling the service information gave them power over their product.  They closely controlled their product through their owned branch network.

The fact of the matter is that they were not complicated machines and were serviced by independent vac shops.  Electrolux just didn’t want to encourage wandering out of their world.   When you think about it, the value proposition with Electrolux was very good.

You may try to contact Aerus about this information.  I would be fascinated to hear if you get it from them.

Now That I Think About It

You could never get genuine Electrolux parts from aftermarket suppliers such as Hesco.  I was a big customer of Hesco and they could generally supply original parts for most manufacturers.   Not Electrolux.  Electrolux closely controlled the supply chain.  It continues today through Aerus.   This is why I watch their parts supply to grab any before the supply dries up.  My bad experience with an aftermarket hose for a friends 1205 confirms this.

I doubt that Electrolux had much control of their employees so I'm certain that parts and diagrams often "wandered away" from the warehouse over the decades and someone has some out there somewhere.

The 1205 had a bad habit of the junction block that the Cord winder contacts melting.

RATS. OK, Here's My Drawing.

I was afraid of something like that. For whomever wants it, my drawing may not have the right color wires on the right terminals on the terminal board, but it should be otherwise operationally OK. Like you said, it was a pretty simple machine, but still elegant in my opinion.

bikerray - That's The Ticket!

Adding the pictorials to the schematic is even better! So, what does one have to do to get a legible copy of sections of the assumed-to-be large foldout?

Money

Lots of money. It's probably up on the manuals and literature section. It does cost money but fixing a old machine it's well worth it.

I did a quick scan of the Manuals section of the site - wasn't really looking hard, just checking it out - and I went through a few pages of service manuals and most are $5-$8, didn't see any over $10. It's pretty affordable and the funding goes right into the website.

Myself - I'd rather have the manual to hold in your hand (my workshop is also away from a PC) - but you take what you can get because they don't come up for sale on eBay much at all.

Lux Service Manual?

huskyvacs

All I found in this site's manuals section was electrolux owner manuals. Did you spot a service manual?

No I did not, mostly seen just washers and dryers manuals and other vacuums not Electrolux. I don't know how the search works that good (it uses Google web search which can be finicky) so hopefully someone can find one if there is one already on the site.

Did you figure out the wiring?

YES - Not The Isuue

Thanx MadMan. Wiring for correct operation was not the issue. I did that days ago and made my own schematic tracing the wires. I really wanted verification that my schematic more or less matched the factory schematic but finding a legible one that I can get my hands on has been unsuccessful. Bikerray VERY Generously posted a photo but unfortuneatly the writing is not legible to these ancient eyes.

I had repaired her old Model G and a Royal Model 993 vac. She hates the new vacs and is checking goodwill and other places to get more oldies like these things I took out of the closet and garage. I have caught the 'let's fix up old vacs' bug (with my wife's prompting) and would like to acquire manufacturer's schematics because I see no end in site.
