I have been a member of this website since its inception (and a memeber of automaticwasher.org since it was originally the classic appliance club at yahoo groups). Up until now I ave been more of an observer who throws in his 2 cents every once in a while but I have know decided I would like to get to know more of the peole here at the club. I already know a few like Tom Anderson, he and I talk on a regular basis and he has been very helpful to me, and Jeff Parker who is also quite full of info which he is always willing to share and has with me many times. Jeff and Tom can attest that while I am looking for some parts for the various vacs I have (see my profile for my vac collection list) that is not all I am about. Tom especially can verify that I love talking with anyone who shares my passions for all things vintage, whether it be appliance, clothes, furniture, automobiles, or 20th century history in general (and that I will for hours LOL!!!). I hope that this post will be the start of new friendships with ohter folks who post here and on automaticwasher.org PATRICK COFFEY

Hi Patrick,

Have you considered joining the VCCC proper? In my opinion, you should! I sent my membership form in on my 18th birthday this year, became a member a couple of weeks later, and haven't looked back!

I can yap on the phone as good as the best and have with some on here. Once we're settled in the new house next Wednesday and get another unlimited long distance plan I'll get your number. I spend a lot of time "hunting for stuff" in junk/thrift stores and don't mind picking up items I know someone is looking for. Sometimes I see stuff and think to myself I'll bet there's someone on the AW site that would want that LOL which in fact happned the other day come to mention fans..a 50's early 60's GE table fan in primo condition was at the junk store for next to nothing.

Hello

Patrick,
I started collecting vacuums in 2002. I have about 20 vacuums.
My 1st vacuum that I collected is a Hoover Concept One U3103. I found it in the trash. I put a new agitator/cord/bottom plate on it and it runs like new! It looks rough though.
I am thinking about joining the VCCC.

Hey Pat!

Pat is a great guy with a broad knowledge of anything vintage. I have learned a great deal from Pat and he is a valuable asset to this forum. Pat would also be very valuable to the VCCC as he has some great vacs. Pat and I talk about anything vintage. We both have a passion for vintage cars especially those from GM. So welcome Pat!!!

You'd probably find my collections interesting. Beside the vacuums (see the complete list in my profile), I also collect Lawn-Boy mowers (the oldest dating to 1957), records (hundreds of 78's, 45's, and albums with appropriate equipment to play them on), and vintage printing equipment (I have 2 hand-fed platen presses, the oldest being 115 years old, paper cutter, Multilith Offset press from the late 30's, and 3 cabinets of type.) Also interested in vintage cars, although I've never had any, unless you'd count the ones that WEREN'T vintage when I had them!
I also agree and recommend heartily that you should join VCCC. I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Jeff
