Here's a Hoover Model 700, given to me by Fred Nelson. I don't have an original bag for it; the bag on it is for a Model 450. It is a spreader-top bag and I do have the spreader top.

However, the cloth tabs on the ends of the bag top are worn out and the bag were they're attached is getting frayed. I'm afraid the bag will suffer worse damage if I try to use the spreader top. I just have to content myself with using a standard sliding bag top.

The Model 700 Hoover was Stan Kann's most favorite vacuum cleaner of them all. I'm glad to have one as a tribute to him. Actually, I do have another one but it's entirely different. I'll post some photos of it one of these days.

Beautiful 700 Charles! I remember that one at Fred's home in St. Charles. I'm glad it has passed on to another loving home. When Terry Lattz was still alive he really liked using that model. The condition is pretty pristine.

Thanks for sharing and enjoy one of the newer additions to the stable.

What a beautiful machine, and a great picture of our good friend Stan. I'm so proud to have HIS model 700 in the Museum here at my store. We both have those wonderful memories of all the time we spent with him and his awesome stories.

Is your 700 one of the first series? With the 'step on' handle release lever, as opposed to the 'lift up' style?

Hi Charles,

I remember from your old site the hoover 700 special with the beautiful and unusual badge. I would love for you to post a few of that beauty. From Stan Kann I believe.

Have a great day!!!

Gary.

Hoover 700

Hello Charles,

Well what can I say but, LOVELY,LOVELY and LOVERIER!!!!

I have the next model on; the 725 (Canadian built) which is in near mint condition as is the carton of tools: the two extension tubes and crevice nozzle were still in the their brown paper envelopes when I found the cleaner. 270 Watts and could agitate the dead back to life!!

I think the 700,725 and 800 models were the most elegant hoovers ever made.

Regards, Walter, Shropshire, WEST MIDLANDS, UK.

That's a beautiful machine

Can you tell me what a spreader bag is? Today is the first time I've heard the name.
