Someone posted today on the Contemporary Forum of the changes on the Aerus site. No more vacuum cleaners. I was disappointed that they no longer show vacuums for sale. I should have suspected something when the longtime Electrolux guy who sold me a pigtail hose was pushing the air filters. If you are interested in maintaining your vintage Electroluxes with genuine parts, I would grab as many as you can since they will probably not last long. Aftermarket parts will probably be available for a while but they will probably die off. Should have realized this was coming when the quality of the C bags started deteriorating.

Yeah, they are just forwarding everyone to the Beyond site because of the coronavirus. Still making vacuums and parts.

The type c vacuum bag isn't going anywhere. There are quite a few machines they work for. If your selling vacuum bags type c covers multiple machines and there not specialized. There kind of like f&g bags.
I don't have an electrolux anymore. I had a newer one for a couple months.
I do know that there pretty much the gold standard for canisters since 1930s.
You have to think with as many machines out there somebody probably will pick up rights and sell parts. Idk I wouldn't worry yet.

 I had noticed these changes a bit ago but found that you have to go to aerusvacuums.com to get to the vacuum site. I do think it’s odd that they don’t have a link to the vacuum web site on their products tab. While they may be concentrating on the air cleaning during the covid crisis, I did hear a report on the news this week that vacuum cleaner sales have gone way up during the crisis. I think people are home more, doin their own cleaning and also perhaps as a result looking for something to buy and deciding they want to change their vacuum.

Maybe the Web designer made changes but forgot to include the floor care link? I’ve always thought it was difficult to get to aerus’s Website because Aerus.com is taken by another company so they had to go with Aerusonline.com, then aerushome.com and now they’ve added aerusvacuums.com, however they don’t have enough ways to link between them.

Something is definitely going on though considering the Guardian Platinum’s main unit is made by Electrolux of Sweden and adapted to take the US Aerus hose and attachments so they have entered into some sort of deal and we will have to see how it develops. Personally I think that should allow Aerus to use the name Electrolux here in the US again and that could be a good thing, maybe they should call the vacuum line Electrolux by Aerus or Aerus/Electrolux, or They could market it as “Aerus’s line of Electrolux vacuum cleaners”. Electrolux of Sweden has stopped selling their Eureka made Electrolux’s here in the US as I think they sold off that division to AEG so that confusion factor is a non issue anymore except to those with Eureka made Electrolux branded machines from 2003 to 2016 here in the US.

I would also think if Aerus is having difficulty selling their vacuum line that they would consider lowering the pricing before just cutting it off to see if they can gain a better market share. The products are more expensive than Miele who is close competition and a lot of people who had US Electrolux in the past and finally replaced their machines ended up going to Miele when they didn’t know the name had changed to Aerus. Though I don’t see Miele as having the longevity that Aerus/Electrolux did and still may have. Those plastic hoses Miele uses really seem cheap to me and their attachments are nothing special.

I’ve looked at vacuum cleaner reviews as of later years and no one includes Aerus anymore as they don’t really include Kirby or Rainbow either Riccar and Simplicity don’t seem to be reviewed either...only brands available in big box stores are being reviewed now. Now sure what that’s all about.

So few vacuums have good warranties...Aerus’s 20 year warranty on the platinum is quite something, not sure what the pricing of the unit is but if it’s $3000 then that’s $150 a year over 20 years as I’d think people would keep it until at least the warranty is over. I guess this is how they come up with pricing...but even at $150 a year I think that’s a lot... would be better for it to be maybe under $2000 and they’d sell plenty more. But I guess their formula for pricing is justified somehow.

I live in a transitional neighborhood where the old 1950s houses are being torn down and McMansions are being put up and sold in the over Million dollar to multi million dollar range...these people buying these homes seem to have limitless budgets as they drive very high end expensive vehicles and so perhaps these are the people buying the top of the line Aerus machines...don’t know for sure. But I do know that almost all of these people have hired help to clean their homes and so perhaps they want a good and quiet machine so the cleaning person isn’t bothering them with running a noisy vacuum and they don’t have to worry about the vacuum breaking down inconveniencing the cleaning person and the homeowner, and the door to door service is something that people in the high end market do like and would expect.

Also, a lot of people with limitless budgets add things such as high end air cleaning, water softening, etc products to their homes and so it seems to make sense that Aerus is in this market as well.

Observation

 In looking at the different web sites they have they seem to be going through a branding change. The “Beyond by Aerus” looks like it is going to be the air, water, and laundry solutions. Perhaps with the deal with Electrolux of Sweden they have the vacuums are going to become “Electrolux by Aerus” in the future. We will have to see...but this would make sense partially but could insinuate the Aerus owns Electrolux which it does not so perhaps why they haven’t done and can’t do that at this time.
