This very neglected Van Riebeeck 3 brush polisher.
It was sourced from Bylock and painted green for our market, although their have been some red ones too. Here is the restoration as it went |

For some reason I forgot to take pics of the motor when it was apart. Its bearings were regreased and it was reassembled.

Body colour matched and it was given a fresh coat of paint.

I used Rustoleum chrome spray and it came out really nicely,
I however made a mistake though, always polish up the paintwork after it has dried and this did not take kindly to that, it lost some of its shine and Unfortunately I ran out of the paint so I will need to redo it again.

HI
Yea I checked with the manufacturer and you must not sand it at all after application, but apparently you can clearcoat it. I will be going over it again shortly and will post pics. In the mean time here are more pics of it going back together |

I forgot to add, I kept the switch on on the handle that had been fitted by the previous owner. Although not original I did think it looked cool and added some personal history to the machine.. and it worked which the original one did not, I have two of these and know of another 5 ? Still in use by their owners regularly, not one has the original switch anymore.
