Hi guys! Hope you're all well! I've been meaning to post these for absolute ages but never had time. Now, well, I have too much time. I know plenty of you are also into other things than anything floor care and so I was wondering - any Braun fans? And I don't mean the current Oral-B/Gilette Braun. The good old Dieter Rams brand famed for it's iconic, clean and simple, timeless design pieces. I've been such a fan for many years - but really only got into collecting around two years ago. It's a small collection but there is a couple more pieces on their way. I'd love to see what you guys have and what your opinions are? I imagine it's a bit like helvetica (funnily enough, it's a font Braun's used for many a years) or marmite - either you love it or hate it. So which one are you?

These are my favourite - a staple breakfast set. Notice how the texture of the toaster matches the coffee machine? Even the cable storage compartment has got the same opening on both! The Aromaster was quite easy to get, the toaster however, dear! I waited a good year to finally find it on eBay. So worth the wait.

I purchased the grinder brand new in box - it has never been used (well, not before i got it). In fact, it even came with the original receipt from John Lewis. November 88?

And the other bits, mostly in their original packaging with all the manuals and any paperwork I could salvage.

The juicer is the newest addition. Let me tell you it juices better than many current machines. The iron had a long journey from somewhere in Germany - works like a treat. The yoghurt maker is a controversial addition to the collection considering that I cannot stand yoghurt and my flatmate is lactose intolerant. I still stand by it!

The last two have a special place in my heart. I vividly remember seeing the food processor in adverts and shops as a kid and always, always dreamt of having it. I purchased it brand new in box from a gentleman two years ago who was doing a house clearout. They got it in 97 (if I remember correctly) as a wedding gift and it's never been used.

Same thing happened to the hairdryer. That one was still wrapped in foil and sealed! My mum has had this exact hairdryer ever since I remember and it only gave up the other year. Ever heard of a recent hairdryer lasting 20 years? Me neither! Let's hope this one will outlive it.

I like some of it. Occasionally you see items turn up in thrift stores here, usually the Aromaster/Aromater Programmable or Flavor Select coffee makers, the coffee grinders or a few different juicers such as that one you have.

Myself I have a 10 cup Aromaster like yours but instead of the knob mine has a rocker switch. I don't even drink coffee but I like the styling of it.
On Keeping Up Appearances I remember Hyacinth always had an Aromaster with rocker switch. Earlier on she had the 10 cup and in later series the 12 cup. I always wondered what kind it was and then I found one locally and learnt it was Braun.

Used to have several in the 80s, my brother in San Francisco started me on them, loved the look. I had to drive an hour to Macy's to purchase mine, loved the coffee maker, grinder, blender, food slicer, hand blender and food processor!

You're very right! I just rewatched the series last week and in fact in season 1 she had the exact same one as I have with the knob. I think it changed to the rocker version in season 2 onwards. Wonder why that was!

I can't really find good photos now, I should've taken screenshots as I watched. But you can see the knob here. The coffee machine really gets some great airtime on that show!

I’m a total fan!!!!

My mother in law’s Citro Matic juicer just died last week after 30+ years of service. I found a few on eBay and they’re expensive!!!

Brand new addition to the collection as of this morning. It's rather ridiculous how long it's taken for me to find this exact model. The other one with a container and pulp control seems more widely available.

Aromaster

I have the 10 cup Aromaster. Like Cole, mine has the rocker switch.
Used it every day for many many years. It would still be going strong today, but the switch gave out.
Fortunately, we had a Krups that we received as a wedding gift back in '02, but never had to use, because the Braun refused to quit.
I may eventually pick up a basic frame with a good switch on eBay, and use the rest of the parts from mine. It makes very good coffee!

My mother had a multi mix for YEARS!!!! I believe it was a Christmas gift from my uncle. Back in 1995-96 it had the beaters, chopper, dough hooks, and the " blender". Very nice unit and I might get one soon.

That's a great one! I think the model you mention is called Quattro, then Trio had either the blender or chopper as an attachment and the Duo only had the standard whisks and dough hooks. That's next on my list. Currently my daily driver is a MultiQuick - a bit too modern to show off but it's a great machine. I recently also got a MultiGourmet steamer which I'll upload soon. I guess you can tell where all my money I saved from not using public transport is going!

I've always liked their shavers. My favorite are the old 2000 series cord models (like the 5422 & 5428) with the pivot motor. They could power through anything. It was so good, about 10 years ago Shavetronics made a clone called the ST-50 60 second shaver. Sadly, the casings they used were inferior and mine broke apart after a short period of time. Now I just found out Shavers.com (which sold the Shavetronics brand) is no longer in business. But fortunately there are plenty of spare screens and cutters for the old Braun 2000 series.

I like that steamer!

A little OT, but what is that item with the smoked gray cover and blue containers inside behind Hyacinth? A yogurt maker?

Oh, and I never noticed her first Aromaster had the knob, I just remember the 10 cup and 12 cups with the rocker.

I like your toaster too. I've never seen one before, maybe they didn't sell them here. It does have the look of the coffee maker.

I've got a White Aromaster

without the knob, just a switch, I had a yellow Braun electric shaver back in 80's best shaver I ever owned! I wanted to get a red Aromaster but they stopped making them and apparently when I got the white one it was the last one here sold @ Targét in 2004 I think

I have always loved the look of Braun appliances. Have the stick blender and used to have the shaver years ago. I have burned through 5 coffee makers both switch, button and rocker switch. This coffee maker I got at a thrift store for $7. It was like brand new.
I wanted the red one back in the day to.I believe it was shown on Designing Women.
Chef Ina Garten is big on using the Braun juicer.
My cousin had a toy Braun blender. It was the greatest thing. We used it all the time and it lasted forever.Wish I had it.

One time at a thrift store I saw the black 12 cup version of the Aromaster that's programmable with the clock. I do see the Flavor Select ones from time to time.

I own some of brauns appliances and love them all and my 1999 Braun KF400 (4085) Coffee Maker get most of the use then my other coffee makers that I have in my collection. Braun designs seem so timeless and elegant that give the name "euro style".
