I used to have a Dirt Devil toy upright when I was a kid. One day I tried to suck up a Cheerio with the hose and it broke the fan and ruined it. :(
I also used to have a Dirt Devil toy hand vac but it got sold in a yard sale. A few years ago I picked up another at Goodwill but it had old batteries in it and I think they ruined something because it doesn't work. At least I have another though. I also used to have a toy blue plastic vacuum that looked like a Hoover Convertible and it had rollers on the bottom so when you pushed it it made a vroom vroom sound. Also I do still have a toy canister vacuum I got as a kid. But for some reason it doesn't work anymore. But I do still have that one. |

When I was little, I had a few toy vacs. Mostly bought as Christmas or birthday presents.
My first one was a toy Hoover Turbopower based on the U2336. Like it's adult counterpart, the plastic was incredibly brittle and it cracked and broke and had a sharp edge on the handle. My Dad tried to glue it back together but it wouldn't, so it went in the bin and they bought me a toy Electrolux 550 to replace it. At some point, I got a toy Electrolux Contour for christmas, which I loved and had for years. One that I really remember from when I was a kid and always wanted was a Smoby toy that looked more like the popular Vax, Hoover Aquamasters and Electrolux Masterlux's of the time. It even had a carpet sweeper in the mock-floortool that rotated and picked bits up off the carpet when it turned. |

I had several toy vacuums when I was younger. The first one I had was the Dirt Devil upright that was modeled after a Dirt Devil Vision, but it had a detachable hand vac that was modeled after the Dust Devil rechargeable hand vac. It had actual suction, but it was very weak. It did pick up enough fuzz to require emptying, which was a pain, as you had to unscrew the dust cup part to empty it. I also had a Dirt Devil Upright based on the old Dirt Devil Deluxe design. I remember it having better suction than the other Dirt Devil toy. It had a small cloth bag that actually collected a fair amount of fuzz and other junk. I then got a Dyson DC14 toy by Casdon. This one had the most suction, but it was only at the wand end. The underside of the head only had small wheels. It was a fun little toy though, and I was quite upset when it ended up breaking.

No, it is unfortunately long gone. I think I killed it accidentally when I vacuumed up drywall dust with it during a remodel. Because the little dust trap it had didn't actually have any real filter, it ended up dying pretty quickly. I think I took it apart after it broke and used the bin and motors for something else.

I have two shop vac toys (knock off) that had decent suction, but very cheap little hoses. They are not together or clean at the moment, otherwise I would take a pic.
The other one is the one Crazykirbydude is talking about, a rare 2000s DD junior. I had to take it apart to un-jam it, the fan is rather large for a toy. No suction on the bottom, but it has a roller brush that is powered by the wheels. Later, they ended up downgrading it to have no suction or hose, and have a cheap sound chip in the base.

The first one is modeled after a Hoover Model 63. I think that one actually plugs into the wall and has a fan just like a real Model 63, but smaller. The second one is a toy version of the Eureka Princess upright. I love the detail on the bag and base!
