I'm really surprised that no one bid on this. It appears to be in fantastic condition.

It's surprising until you look a little further. At least on my end, it's saying $120 for the vacuum. Then the shipping costs an additional $140 on top of that. It's probably still a good deal either way for a Bison.

$125 bid plus $120 shipping - $250 - no way. Also a lot of people are out of work right now and have no money, so not surprising. Looks like the seller cancelled the auction anyway.

I messaged the seller letting him know his outrageous shipping. I did mention people go nuts over bisons and they are rare.
He was able to remove the handle and shipping will go down. He said covid 19 is affecting shipping rates.
I'd check it out tommorow see the shipping. If I liked bison I'd buy it for sure. There different but I like boneless buffalo wings not bison Vacuums.

Charles,

This is also a "transitional" model, since it was made just as the green version was being phased out and the brown one coming in, hence the green powdercoat finish.

It is these details that also remind me of when Kirby slowly phased in newer features on their outgoing machines.

Yeah USPS changed the dimensional rates a couple years ago. If you have a really tall box - the shipping cost takes a big hit. Even a stick vac if packaged in its fully assembled state is nearly $30. it sucks (i mean really). lol

There is a story behind these vacs. The seller is trying to recoup some of his costs for storage/purchase of these vacs. He is donating some of his profits to our club (the VCCC). Shipping is just downright expensive (bubble wrap and other supplies). To me it’s worth paying a little more to ensure the item doesn’t get broken.

Otherwise it looks like a nice Bison to me.

Also, I've had good luck on eBay within the past couple weeks. Collectors don't seem to be phased by this pandemic (at least the ones that have bought from me). I'm guessing it's because most thrift stores are closed around the country and collectors still need their fix. :)

I figured. I know that seller is an upstanding man.
I've bought 2 Hoovers from a NY collector. paid 2 weeks ago. I'm still waiting for my delivery.
I TRUST all will be ok.

No I think with all the exposure to dirty vacuum bags and other peoples dirty old vacuums from 20-30 years of being stored with a full bag and dust I think we're immune to viruses now. lol
