Hello neighbour!

That is very interesting!

I think this is just another case of a Chinese company buying the rights to an old brandname in order to fool people into thinking their product has some connection to a well-respected American company of the past. Brandnames are no longer a guaranteed indicator of the source of the product.

We have already seen TTI of Hong Kong buy the Hoover and Royal and Oreck names, and Midea buy the Eureka name. We have seen Cleva buy the Kenmore name and Haier buy the European Hoover name. There are very few vacuum brandnames that in essence are “telling the truth”. This list of “true” brandnames still linked to their original owners and factories is short: Miele, Sebo, Vorwerk, Bissell, Swedish Electrolux, Kirby, Rainbow, Dyson and Shark.

This is not to say that the products with the “hijacked” names are not good - I love my TTI Hoover Platinum Lightweight Upright! It’s just that the brandnames on the product are no longer linked to the original source of the name with all the brand reputation it used to mean in the last century. The hazards of globalization I guess.

I have used mine every day for the past month. It works well. I am going to sell my Maytag M600 from Tacony as I like the Regina better.

It looks like a combination of the Air Ram 2 and a now discontinued corded Shark powerhead vacuum.
Does it perform comparable to a lightweight vacuum like Oreck or Riccar?

@matty0033 the Regina name is going to be back but not in the way that you're probably thinking. The company Ivar has an interesting multi-level marketing plan for that brand and a few others. I'll post a video of it here I'm not very comfortable with the way it was presented.
I just checked their YouTube channel they pulled their video down which makes me question a bit more. I put a link to their channel down below.

Here is a link to the other name that the Regina product has been sold under.

I did also talk and show it briefly in this video at the VDTA.

Interesting. It does look similar to the Shark Rocket, which was an interesting machine.

It's unfortunate to hear that they may be coming back with a MLM structure. That's an inherently predatory business structure and almost always results in a subpar product being sold at a high markup.

I'm not seeing a dust bin. Is it doing what airway did in 1920 putting the dirt in the handle but no bag.
It looks like a rocket and a Dyson on the nozzle. The rest of the vacuum is just a stick and a handle.

The dust cup is to the back left of the machine, when looking at it in the photo posted above. Same placement on the Shark Rocket.

Wow I was looking on the handle. It's a good location. Thanks for pointing it out.

Last time I remember seeing the Regina name was on some Dirt Devil Breeze bagged uprights. Very BOL, no headlight and black in color instead of red.

Like was mentioned in so many brands these days some Chinese company must have obtained the rights to the name. When the Dirt Devil rebranded machines were made apparently Royal and I guess later TTI had rights to the name.

This is no different than we saw in the past with Westinghouse, GE, RCA, etc just licensing the name to Angelo Brothers, Jasco, Thomson SA, Walmart, etc.

In fact it is almost worse because in this case the name has no lineage to the original company at all. But it's neat to see the name back and if the products are good, I guess it's a good thing in all. :)
