I bought this CIII head while in TN as the casting on mine broke. I noticed that, for some reason, it does not have Shag King holes. Is it a color swapped 1cr head or was it made this way? Thanks!

Kieran,

What you have might likely be a re-dressed Classic 1CR head. But... does this also have the speed switch provision for the 1CR's speed switch (134365)?

I have also seen a (pre-1972) 1CR head with all Classic Omega trim parts on it.

Not sure if it is the right provision, but it does have "76" stamped on the back.

It would have to be a Classic III head because the Classic 1CR and Omega !CB does not have the Visi Belt window in the middle of the Belt Lifter. If you removed the Belt Lifter from a Classic or Omega head the hole in the center is much smaller. It must have been a factory flaw that there was no holes for the Shag King, in all the years that I was a Kirby Area Distributer, I have never seen a head like this.

Kieran,

Then you have a rarity in your hands! The part number you found matches the model. Therefore, hold on to it!

See,I do have rare stuff. But do you need one with Shag King holes? If so I'll try to set one aside if I find as I continue sorting.
