When I was younger, both my grandmother and great grandmother had Hoover Elite style vacuum cleaners. I would like to find out the exact model of those two Hoovers. I don't have any pictures unfortunately, but I do have vivid descriptions. I'll start off with the one my grandmother owned. It was a higher end model exactly like the one in the picture, except it was navy blue instead of dark green, and it had a handle grip. Eventually, my grandmother gave it to me when she bought a Eureka The Boss SmartVac, and I kept it until the hood and base were destroyed when something accidentally fell on it. I don't have the hood or base any more, but I do have the handle "spine" and the motor, and maybe the bag enclosure. The one my great grandmother had was maroon in color, and it had a headlight, hose, and side-zip soft bag, but the strange part was the brushroll. It had a round belt situated in the center of the brushroll, similar to a Hoover Convertible. I think it might have had a metal baseplate and/or brushroll. I only vaguely remember this one, so I might have remembered it incorrectly or confused it with another vacuum. I'm sure Gottahaveahoove will have some input on this.

I actually managed to dig up an old picture of the Hoover Elite my grandmother gave me. It looks black in the picture, but it was actually navy blue. Any ideas?

While not identical to the one you showed, here’s a dark blue donor Elite I bought to part out for my Hoover Sprint. Model number below.

As far as the dark blue model,

I have 2; 1 is "new in the box". I also have that other blue one.
I'll get more info as soon as I can get to the cleaners.
Thanks for asking.

No, I'm 99% sure that it was a Hoover. The metal brushroll with the belt in the center baffles me though.
