And, not the kind from Kings and Queens but from those familiar with the Royal family of vacuums. I used to ask Mike Rogers but since he has passed on I'm soliciting help here. This is one vacuum I never collected or learned much about so any help is very much appreciated.
What are the basic differences between the following Royal models including manufacturing dates, brush roll differences and amperage: 8100 Classic Edition 300 Preferred 996 UR38200 I'd like to add, possibly, one of these to my collection. Is there one that is any more collectable than the others? What would be a good one to use for an occasional daily driver? Lastly, how about noise? I remember Royals more from the late 60's early 70's than any other time frame and it seemed they were all screamers. Again, thanks! Charlie |

I'm not sure there is a complete answer. Ben and human are royal experts. I do know some about royals.
8100 is 6 or 7 amp. Classic edition is middle class vacuum. 300 preffered is too of the line consumer. It's either red and black or burgundy in color. It's 7 amp motor. It has chrome wheel caps with royal crown on them. 996 Is just model number. Ur38200 is mid 2000s commercial vacuum made in China. I could be wrong but it may be Canadian. The ur and 38200 is one more digit than ur1030z or 1050z which are late 2000s to early 2010s commercial. I could be wrong but that's my educated guess. Les |

Looking at eBay to answer better.
Ur38200 9 amp. It's beautiful made in China royal. https://www.ebay.com/itm/313020394370... This is classic 4000. I have this model. The 10.5 amp motor is a drop in motor. It's biggest motor royal ever put in a vacuum. The 10.5 amp is only in this model. The 10 amp is largest motor usually put in commercial versions. The classic edition 994 is over priced mid 90s mid level vacuum. The 996 classic edition is good shape and good looking. The 3000 is 9.5 amp. The bag is not correct it is also missing the the chrome wheel caps. https://www.ebay.com/itm/274272419638... It's 7.0 amp Everlast. If I were to buy a royal this bag and it's an Everlast would be the one I'd buy. Les |
