Hello!

I’m sure many of us have several different makes of vacuums in our collections, but my question is: what is/are your favorite Kirby vacuums that you currently own?

For me, it’s my model C, 505, 560, and 562 Sanitronic. One of these days I will hopefully find an original bag for the C, but until then, this one works just fine.

Let’s see your favorite Kirbys!!!!

Those are beautiful vintage Kirbys. I don't have anything that old but I'm hard pressed to pick a favorite from my seven (oldest to newest):
• Heritage 1HD—This is my most recent acquisition and definitely a work in progress. I'll decide how much I love it once I finish refurbishing it.
• Heritage II Legend—Found this one at Goodwill last fall in pristine condition but missing the cord.
• Legend II—I just love its maroon color scheme. It was an emotional purchase for reasons excessively documented elsewhere and I spent way too much putting it to rights.
•G5 (FrankenKirby)—This one came to me in absolutely decrepit condition and I refurbished it with miscellaneous G series parts, ending up with a somewhat unique looking Kirby.
•GSix Performance—The second of my two GSixes. I found it at Goodwill with all of its tools and it was just too pretty to leave behind.
•GSix 2001 Limited Edition—My very first Kirby, which I found beside a dumpster. It needed a bag and a belt (what second-hand vacuum cleaner doesn't?). I later found a set of GSix tools at a nearby thrift shop. I like to think I reunited them.
•Sentria—The only vacuum I ever paid upward of $100 for. Came to me in beautiful shape with a full set of tools.

Favorite show vacuum is 505. My favorite vacuum to use is d80.
The seller with white vords been out of town but Thursday I should get 1 maybe 2 we will see.
The 505 you have is the prettiest/nicest Kirby I've seen.

Classic III 2cb

Even with my recent acquire of the three very vintage vacuums I still have to say my favorite is a 2cb and I'll even go with a 3cb being as the function and reliability really is superb. I've been using those two models for about the past 10 years and haven't had a hiccup out of any of them. They're modern enough to still get all the parts for brush rolls with no problem so I don't hesitate as far as daily use. The biggest plus is they don't weigh 25 lbs!

These are my favorites. I also really like my Avalir but don't have pics of it.
I had the Model C for a long time but gave it to the Tom Gasko for his Vac Museum and glad it has a great home.

I also have a 519 which I use for cleaning along with the Heritage Legend and the Avalir.

I only rarely use the 560 so as to keep it pretty new.

To everyone whose posted photos, they are all lovely! Thank you all for sharing your pictures! Hopefully will see some more!

And Les, yes! It’s finally been revealed. It has all of its attachments and the straight suction nozzle as well as it’s manual, which I neglected to include in my pictures.

Some nice well keep't examples in this thread, For me it's pretty much anything pre generation, I'm really not a huge fan of any Generation Kirby even though I have several in my collection. I do love my little lightweight 512 it's a cracking little Kirby it's so easy to manoeuvre it's just a shame I have to use a transformer to run it. I would say the Heritage 1 is one of my all time favourite looking models, I created my own Heritage 1 in the style/shape of a Heritage 11 Legend machine with the mini em-tor, lighter front nozzle and larger rear wheel axle which I do love, But I think the favourite looking Kirby award goes to my Kirby black diamond which is immaculate and stunning in black, again though it's a shame I have to run it on a transformer which is where it's not as practical as the Uk spec Kirby's I have.

Here's a selection of photo's of just a few of my Kirby's that I would say are my Favourites out of all the collection I have.

Yellow

lesinutah's profile picture
The 561 box of attachments is blue. The manual you show is a 561 manual. The 560 has yellow where the blue is. The 560 manual is very similar to 519 but its green. You sure your 560 isn't a 561? The vacuum itself doesn't change. There both really good looking models.
That black diamond edition is a beauty. It has me intrigued.
The model C's are amazing. It's just a 90 year old vacuum. There all polished up too. Bill what is your favorite Kirby? My guess is the tradition.
Les

Yes I installed the zipper on the front there was an existing tear. I might flip it back around the zipper is the same color as the bag.

Love My Kirby's

dandagreer's profile picture
I love all my Kirby's, but I have to say, my real favorites are the pre-classics. 505-D80. I have lots of them, all converted to HEPA bags and all restored to full mechanical functionality, though, some are still lacking in polishing (my least favorite chore). I have them displayed around my house and they "spark joy" every time I walk by them.

Les & Kirby Model 560 Box...

a007kirbyman's profile picture
Hello Les (& others).

"...The 560 has yellow where the blue is..."

Wherever you're getting some of your information Les, it might not be a bad idea to verify it with other sources.

The Kirby model 560 box actually has light color (white...ish) where the blue is. :-)

I hope this information is helpful to you (Les) & others.

Cheers & hagd all,

Bill

I'm not going to post rude remarks.
Bill I'm not wrong this is the third time you called me out. I was not wrong on any of the call outs. Stop trolling me. I'd ask to stop trying to correct me. I'm posting 2 pics of what I described. I have the manual and the attachments. They were in front of me when I'm posting.
If you have a problem call me we can talk like men.
I'm not going to be rude.
Les
If you want me to call you I'd be glad too. I've backed up my statements. You probably disagree but like I said call me and I can explain.
Enough of the corrections.
