5 hours later and I couldn't be happier! One or two spots I need to work a little more but I think it turned out fantastic! Now just waiting for bag parts. (last photos are how it looked when I acquired it)

You did it quick. I mean in a day or two. One small issue. Rotate the bag 180 degrees. The sani zipper pocket goes on backside.
I have three. I butchered the wiring on one. The others have new bags. I used a 2" hole saw bit. I took origin fill tube off. I centered the ole saw on center of where fill tube was. I put a sentria fill tube on it. I glued it with e6000. It sealed it using original blue adaptor. I have made fill tubes for 505 to heritage.

Excellent work! She shines like new now!
What did you use to get such a nice luster?

That bag was installed backwards. Kirby never ever did it that way.

Thanks! Yeah I know the bag is backwards. There was a small tear on the front side so I used it to my advantage to sew in a full length zipper on the front side. I'm going to get another bag asap.
That's good advice on the fill tube aspect I may have to do that.

I used mothers mag and aluminum polish with a lint polisher drill attachment. I'll probably wax it as well.

Like the label says...

...'there's no shine like Mother's!' Definitely keep it waxed it to prevent that beautiful finish from oxidizing.

I suspected Mothers and a drill wheel, as that is what I have been using on mine and the combo works great! You can find Mothers almost at any auto or discount store, too.
Again, great job!
Time to do another... :o)

I have a g4. It runs has some scuffs bearings behind fan need packed.
I bought it for $15. If you pay shipping it's yours.
A g4 was first vacuum I fixed. I was green to mechanical. I had vacuum serviced. It basically fixed carbon brushes and fixed stutter with transmission.
I did take nozzle off and clean it and brush roll. I used steel wool got out minor scuffs.

Did anyone else hear...

that the e6000 glue is very dangerous? I had two tubes that came with a kit to better seal my garage door bottom to floor seal. When I read about the glue, I sent them to toxic recycle.

How's it run?

It runs great! I'm still going to but brushes in the motor just to do it. I cleaned out the old brush roll but am going to upgrade soon.
