I was browsing the Sanitaire website when I came across these peculiar vacuums. They seem to be standard Bissell PowerForce vacuums, but with a metal handle. There also was a rebranded Simplicity Freedom Cordless Upright. I know Bissell bought Sanitaire after Eureka was sold to Midea, but this is quite strange. Sanitaire has also rebranded some Bissell extractors under their own name. Does Bissell have a deal with Tacony?

Tacony will put anyone's name on their vacuums, as long as you order enough quantity and spend sufficient money. It infuriates their riccar dealers. One can now buy a Simplicity Freedom at Macy's, Home Depot, Amazon, etc. But who to fix them under warranty? Tacony puts the Aerus name on both the battery and corded model SupraLite, and they have labeled them as Tenent, PowrFlite, Tornado, Maytag, BioSpeedKleen, CarpetPro, CleanMax, Fuller Brush, as well as many others.

I think the (old-style) Bissell PowerForce bagged vacuums are one of the few residential-grade machines that could hold up decently in a commercial environment. Are they as good as a direct-air machine? No, but for what they were, they were a good bang for the buck. While they are made completely out of plastic, they seemed to be well-built and were pretty good performers. I had one until I dropped it off at Goodwill after getting my Sanitaire SC886 -- I should have kept it but didn't know at the time that I'd end up collecting vacuums.

I literally noticed yesterday just how much rebadging Tacony has done on their Simplicity Freedom/Riccar Supralite models. Especially the cordless one.

The bagged Bissell PowerForce is a pretty good value for your dollar. Not the best, but it does it's job for the price.
