Hello! I'm just wondering if anyone here has an Amway Cleartrak. They are very 90's looking machines. I guess they were the pre-fantoms... the first cyclonic uprights? Is that right? What happened to the company? How is the machine as a cleaner... especially compared to Fantoms and Dysons (I'm getting a Dyson tomorrow, not considering a Cleartrak, just curious). Thanks :o)

Anyone have pictures?

Actually, the Amway CMS 1000 came before the ClearTrak. It's the same machine, just without a height adjuster. Yes, Amway was the first to bring bagless cyclonic here to the states. I believe the machine is made by Bissell, but parts are hard to get. I have a CMS 1000 with a shorted out motor.

My dad had one of these recently. He got it for free so he didn't invest any money in it. Whenever I would use it, I just couldn't believe how dirty the thing is and how poorly it picks up. The hose suction is about nil. The problem is the after filter gets really clogged up really fast. It's disgusting to have to clean it. My dad gave it to me and then I took it all apart to clean it up and then sell it on Ebay. Let me tell you, I can't believe how much dirt that thing had in it. I think it is basically designed the way most bagless vacuums are. I am now even more dead set against bagless vacuums after having witnessed first hand the poor design.
