I just found out that Vacparts + is doing some cleaning out. Not sure which location but, I understand that about 5 dumpsters worth are gone!!!!

I will not be the lucky one to head there, but you may be able to.

I thought they had 3 locations, but here is all I know:

Hammond, In.
65476 Kennedy Ave
219-845-4080

Merrillville, In.
7530 Broadway Ave
219-769-7099

These may not be the location closing down, but you can check. Best of luck!

There was a store I used to frequent out of town that I later found out had to quickly move to a new location. The guy who runs it described the dumpsters that hauled away stuff they found in the attic and back storeroom. I was crushed. He described Singer, Sunbeam and other vacuum machines, parts and bags!

So if anyone is able, go see what you can find.

Take care.

I think it is AMAZING that you are informing everyone about this, giving people a chance to obtain things.
Many thanks.

Just as URGENT!--

--here in east TN!!This will be the last year for the old Vac Shop building. The sooner it is empty, the better.I have scrap dealers that ask every time they see me when they can back up a truck. When building value outweighs value of contents and if I continue to have limited response from collectors it will ALL BE GONE.

These was the locations of The Henry Company, back in the late 1970's. John Henry was a good friend of mine at the time, and I got a lot of my vintage vacuum cleaners from him. He was also the one who told me of The Hoover Historical Center, which I visited for the first time in August 1980.

Steve...

is the guy I have always dealt with. He had helped me out a lot with items I wanted and needed.

Very kind man who I have had the pleasure of doing business. One of the last items I just had to have was a couple packages of Royal bags for my round canister.
I was shocked to see them in his inventory.

The first item I got from him was a replacement name badge for my Compact canister. I also had noticed a lot of listings on Ebay from their group.

Jimmy,

you are my hero as well, getting my that switch/handle for my Eureka canister.

I will put together a list and call you.

The Henry Co.

I've gotten quite a few parts from them as well, and have dealt with both Steve and Dave, and I agree with Garry, they're both a pleasure to do business with. When I have a question, Dave is usually the one who answers it. They've been quite helpful with parts and attachments I've needed for some of my Royals and Electro-Hygienes, and even had an old sales manual for the model 285 Electro-Hygiene upright.
They actually have 2 online stores. One is Vac Parts Plus, their regular online store, which has parts for all makes and models, mostly the more recent stuff. The other is their ebay store, either called Henry Vintage Vacuums or simply the Henry Company. The ebay store is the one I have mostly dealt with and usually has stuff you might not find anywhere else.
