I was at Boscov's Dept. Store on Friday, and, naturally scanned the vacuum section. There were only TWO models, plus a Platinum stickvac. I asked what was happening. She told me she heard that they were switching over to Shark. I then spotted 2 "Air" handvacs... under $10.00. Naturally, I scarfed them up, for possible raffle items of prizes.
I just found it all very odd.

Walmart. It's NOT my favorite store. But, it makes one wonder: WHERE do people buy all of their Hoover products?
online? Amazon?

It just shocked me

as this department store has carried HOOVER appliances from the very start.
I'm seeing less and less at Walmart as well.
Makes one wonder.................................

I heard from another collector that Hoover might be on its way out. A vac shop owner told him this information. My friend wanted to buy some Royal vacuum parts from him and the owner wouldn't sell them because the parts are no longer available and wanted to keep them for customers. If Hoover does go out of business for good. It might be for the best because Hoover is no longer Hoover anyway. In my opinion, Shark/Bissell has a good part of the disposable vacuum market right now.

At my Walmart they have remodelled the store and now there is a very small vacuum section mostly of Bissell and 2 entry level Shark vacuums. They've been encouraging people to use the online service now and also curb pickup.

It's a shame, really.......

After what TTI did to North Canton, the company, the employees, the 'vault', the buildings, the town, etc. The last time I was at TTI, the building was for sale, the Bag Plant, #2 was shuttered, etc. I thought that little red logo was gold to them.
Perhaps, like a lot of things, it has to hit rock bottom before it can rise from the ashes, once more.
Stay tuned, I guess.
