Electrolux model XXX with a power nozzle port? |

All this talk about Electroluxes leads me to wonder - does anybody have or has anybody seen an Electrolux XXX with a port for a powernozzle pigtail? I know Metropolitan refurbished and sold model XXX's well into the '70's so it's reasonable to think that some vac shop or Metropolitan may have modified one to use a powernozzle.

Electrolux salesmen would put a power nozzle receptacle on anything to sell a power nozzle. I remember a lady who lived on our street with a General Electric swivel top they added a power nozzle receptacle to, and sold her a PN-4 with the adapter for her GE wands. The receptacle came out one of the exhaust slits. When the hose swiveled too far, it yanked the cord out of the receptacle. She cussed that thing all the time. I sold her a new Rainbow in 1979 with a proper power nozzle. Why she didn't buy the Electrolux when she bought the power nozzle from the salesman is anyone's guess.

Wow, I had no idea they went to such great lengths to sell Electrolux powernozzles. Even a model L if a lady like that was so frugal would've been a better choice. At the vacuum shop where I work we used to rebuild Filter Queens with the power nozzle cord zip tied to the outside of the hose. Needless to say it wasn't pretty.

"--add wheels to my XXX--" There were many aftermarket parts at vac stores to update different models including a wire frame for Mo XXX to sit on that had 2 wheels in back and swivel wheel in front.Many upright users would replace shake out cloth bag with a bag unit with zipper and paper bags. | ||

The Perfect Power Nozzle
For old cleaners without power nozzle outlets. The Perfect Power Nozzle runs for over an hour on a charge. The battery adds weight which pushes the brush even deeper into the rug for a better clean. And I can use it with the oldest canisters. Here it is with my 1940 Rexair model B as well as many other cleaners. It really is Perfect. The Models XXX and LX work so well with the battery Perfect nozzle, there's no reason to modify a vintage canister/tank cleaner.

We were given an Electrolux......
now known as the "club Lux". It has traveled around the country. It is supposed to come to my home for a year. I hope it will be here on display during the 2021 convention which will be held in Scranton, PA.
My late aunt always had Electrolux. I'm offering the gold, anniversary floor polisher/shampooer. | ||

I made a special cord for my Model 30 because I didn't want to hard mod mine. I took an old percolator cord that fit and I added another secondary plug (standard NEMA 1-15 two prong outlet), and then I took an old Kenmore PowerMate nozzle and added a long cord onto the nozzle that would plug into the outlet that I added onto the percolator cord. It was nice because it allowed me to use a power nozzle with the Model 30, but it would also allow me to keep the vacuum original. I don't have a pic of the setup, but I did draw a crude diagram of what it looked like.
