When y'all use your Kirbys as uprights, do you raise the headlight cover or lower it? Raising it gives a bigger flood of illumination but it kinda ruins the streamlined look of the machine.

The only person I remember using her Kirby was my Aunt. She always kept the cover up, whether using the rug nozzle or the hose and attachments.

Haha - I lift the light on mine also when I am using them with the rug nozzle for the reason you gave. Practicality over appearance any day, as no one is watching me vacuum... I like to see what I am about to vacuum up before tragedy strikes!

I keep it down only out of fear of hitting it on furniture and ripping it off, moreso with the newer powerdrive models, they take off quick once that drive engages!

Would that be...

Aunt Dabney?

It never occurred to me to use a Kirby with the headlight raised up - I couldn't stand to look at it that way! It even always bugged me that the light cover wouldn't go all the way down when the belt lifter was "off" on some models.

Down

With a bright LED light. If I left it up I'd look down and make my shoddy eyesight worse.
