This is my 5th Kirby now. Along with my 2007 Kirby Sentria, 1998 G5, 1978 Classic 3, and 1948 508. She's rough but not for long. She was $60 right in my town on craigslist but since I'm broke rn from buying 4 other vacs last week i did some brake work on his old Ford f150

Nice and fairly rare machine. Here's what it looks like when all-original. Note the white cord with tan ends. This is the only model with this cord.

Looks like you have the right handle grip... bag guard should also be the “root beer” color, plus you’ll need to find the right bag topper, I think I have an extra one of those if you are interested. You have the correct attachment box. You have the white cord - it’ll take a very thorough cleaning, but it’s worth the time and effort in the end... here’s mine.

You got a great deal for sure - I always liked the barter system.
That was an attractive model - very unique. Was it kitty-approved? Lol - very cute cat... Won't take much to getting that vac back to next-to-new condition.
I have a cord for one of those - been wondering what it came off of!
Looking forward to the restoration thread!!

I just won 562 manual I'll be receiving shortly. The white cord came on more than just the 562. Chris hmc show your white cord lineup.
I have the lighter sparkly tan 562.
I have the full sanitronic lineup. 562,s7 d50, d80.
I have complete system for d80. I have complete ds 50 but no boxes. I have 562 tool caddy.
There classy machines and it's last of the small nozzles.
Les

Wow those are some beautiful 562s! Yea mine is very rough but runs great. My 508 was worse when i got it and I've restored Royals that looked worse so i have hopes for mine. It does have the original white cord just very dirty. I will use engine degreaser and a magic eraser on it. Cords usually come out looking new with that. The bag topper was put on backwards lol. It's a greenish brown. Hopefully i will have time to work on her this weekend. When she's done she will be upstairs with the others. And like all my others this is not a factory rebuild. Could someone tell me about the bag? I heard that mine looks like a vac shop replacement but I'm not sure. I also have the original manual for it along with the attachment box. Sold new july 5th 1962

The bag should be like the other pictures posted - tan with the closely spaced circle logos. I’m glad you have the right bag topper! The cord will clean up really well.

The 562 was the only model to have that cord... I have some extras and I like how they look on the tan machines, so I put them on my tan ones. I saved their original cords, but just like how that white cord looks. I wish the D80 had a white cord with either gold or green ends. That would look neat I think.

Keep us updated on its restoration! Look forward to seeing it all finished up!
