I just got a tool set for my hoover 450 . is this the tool set that goes with the 450 and is it a good idea to use it?

I don't see why you can't use it. The only thing is the hose may leak (being so old), so you'll just have to experiment and see if it's good enough to use for cleaning.

Hoover 450

Great find!No vintage Hoover is complete without it's Dusting Tools. Many Hoover owners found them difficult to attach just as todays Kirby customers complain about attaching hose.Hoover was among the very best carpet vacs but for cleaning with hose and attachments some Hoover owners would add an Electrolux or other tank.

I think asbestos has to be in the set. I bet you get a cancererous benign tumor.
All joking aside use it.

I got the hoover at a local antique shop for 34$ and I had to service it like replace the rotten wiring and cleaned the commutator and replaced the belt
