The Sebo Essential G1 and G2 are being discontinued and replaced by the G4 and G5. Just wanted to let you guys know if you didn’t know already.

I may have the wrong numbers for them but a couple of weeks ago my vacuum shop got an email from Sebo about the old essential G’s being discontinued because new ones are coming out.

They're on Sebo's website now. Doesn't seem like much has changed from the G1/2 except as a styling exercise.

Yeah they’re basically the same. Just like the X4/X5 are the same as the X7/X8 aside from styling and some cosmetic/mechanical changes like the foot pedal, post motor filter, and headlight on the premiums.

Actually one other major improvement that the G4/5 have is what's called the Handle Catch. Just like what the X4/5 and the X7/8 have is now also true on the G4/5 that prevents the handle from popping out while either carrying it and/or vacuuming with it. One thing I wished Sebo would've done on these was to keep the teal colors and would've offered the G Series either in teal or gray just like how Sebo offers different color options for some of their other models.
