Ahhhh memories... My mother had one of these thinking it would be a great daily cleaner. And maybe for the most part it could have been. I hated it because it was limited. I see a lot of advertising on Ebay. I know certain models had attachment sets. But none of the advertisements show any attachments that would have been available. When did attachments get introduced and when did Regina sease operations?

I wouldn't be able to say when attachments first became available, but I can tell you Regina closed its plant in the early '90's. The plant reopened to make Oreck vacuums. Ironically, Oreck has since moved out of the Biloxi, Mississippi factory as well. They continued making Regina Electrikbrooms as well as their Steemer under the Oreck label. Does anyone know if another vacuum company took it over since?

If I remember correctly, Regina's Canadian division in Welland, Ontario (near Buffalo, NY) was originally a Switson vacuum plant. Eventually, that factory was bought by General Signal which continued to produce vacuums and other appliances under the Regina and Iona brand names. We actually had Iona Electrikbrooms in Canada.

General Signal bought the North American rights to the Dyson cyclonic vacuum patent sometime in the late 1980's, and was transformed into Fantom Industries. So the famous "empties like an ashtray" Electrikbroom eventually gave birth to an "empty the dust bin" bagless vacuum... at least in Canada.

My mom was and still is hell on vacuums. I think she has had one if every store brankd and when I was growing up she had a Regina Electric Broom and a Regina Housekeeper. My Grandma had a Regina Steamer Carpet Cleaner.

I always wanted a Regina Electric Broom power head with attachments. so I know the brand. LOL
