My 1979 Kirby Tradition! First VC to come with a disposable filter bag. Isn’t it gorgeous?

Welcome Billy! Very nice Tradition. A Tradition was what started me into the collection and restorations of Kirbys several years ago. Are you in the Dallas Texas area?

Lovely cleaner! It'd be showroom ready with a bit of polish!

Thanks, glad to be here amongst friends. Nothing like the sound of a Kirby when she’s firing up!

Yessir, I’m in Dallas. Looking forward to tomorrow when I get to vacuum up my friends’ NYE mess lol

Great to hear you are a nearby neighbor - I am in the sountheast Plano area.
If you ever want any more Kirby projects, or your Tradition gets lonely and needs a companion or two, let me know. I have several complete Kirbys and a lot of parts awaiting new homes! Check these out...

Billy,

Welcome to VacuumLand!

I see your Tradition looks to be a 1979 model going by the smooth wheels alone, but what I do not see, however, is the lock on the headlight cap that would also indicate, when originally delivered, the top-mounted speed switch, that which has been removed from many machines produced during the summer 1979 period due to many people not being familiar with the way the newer speed switch worked (as opposed to the one at bottom that is mounted to the fan case).

Hi Billy. Welcome. My oldest Kirby is a Wireless Vacuette. My newest is a Sentria 2. I have almost all the models in between.
