Since everyone I know knows I enjoy vacuum cleaners I always seem to get them as gifts 😂. My friend had a Sanitaire commercial bagless and I really enjoyed using the machine when I cleaned for her. So today she surprised me with almost the equivalent, a Eureka Whirlwind Litespeed. I know some people don’t like bagless and I usually don’t prefer them either but something about this machine I just really like. I guess it’s the nostalgia of the dirt actually spinning around in the bin. She found the machine almost new and I was actually pretty amazed that she knew that it was similar to the Sanitaire. It actually cleans surprisingly well and I think the duster is pretty cool.

That's a nice vac

Your friend has a good eye for vacuum cleaners and sounds like a good person. I have an older similar machine from around 2001. Like you I prefer bagged as a rule, but this model is no slouch. Nice!

Nice gift! I have the Altima which came out in the millennium and I believe that one sourced more than a few parts from. The duster is handy but takes a bit of getting used to so you're not just flinging dust around. The idea they thought of is that by pressing the lever and getting suction through the duster cup, it generates a static charge that will charge up the duster so it will get dust to stick to it.

Duster

Thankfully my house isn’t very dusty thanks to my Rainbow and 4 Rainmates that run 24/7 but I’m hoping this little duster will work good on my TVs and stuff. Like I said I’m not a fan of most bagless machines but I do like this one. It will mainly be used for this quick pick ups and daily vacuuming.

@Mpbyrd

Would you be so kind as to tell me what a Rainmate is please?

Does it remove dust from the air in the home ? If so sounds like I need one !

Thanks Austin

Welcome to the eureka/Bissell club.

I've got its bagged counterpart that I'm about to put up for sale.

Hi Guys!

Alex,
First off let me say I love watching Performance Reviews! I like your detailed views on vacuums. Your videos are very helpful if there is a machine I haven’t taken apart yet or just for good info on servicing vacs!

Austin,
The Rainmate is exactly that, an Air Purifier that uses water. You will find mixed reviews as you do with most things but for me I enjoy them. I like the water filtration and the fact you can add different oils to the water or Rainbow Fresh Air and it smells really clean. If you maintain them correctly (change the water, clean all the parts) they last forever. My friend has an old one of mine that’s about 12+ years old. They aren’t for everyone but I will always have one in every room!

Those rainmates are trash. The only think they do is waste electricity and make noise. No way would they purify your air in you house. The infiltration rates are way above even a rainbow on air purify mode. It’s also a much of garbage. It’s certified to purify air in a room the size of a bath room. I think it’s certified for 80 or 88 cubic feet. Your better off buying a real air purifier. The rainbow does purify the air when on full speed though. It even removes odors from the air which is surprising.

To each their own

Exactly my point why I said they’re not for everyone. So many people want to just be argumentative about everything. I like mine so I’m good with that. I never said they were the best air purifier in the world, but they do have good functionality and make my house smell good. It was my opinion, this is the reason I stay away from the Internet. I don’t feel like arguing with people over opinions...

As you said each to his own

One mans meat is another mans poison so please lets not fall out over an air freshener I had never heard of them nor have I seen any here but it gives me an idea about what to look out for as some days all the air fresheners in the world are unable to rid my home of Bassett hound funk.

Thank you Mpbyrd for your input..x

John,

As you see there are multiple views on them, I would never pay $250 for one I got all mine for free when I was a Rainbow Dealer. Check Facebook Marketplace you can usually find them for fair prices on there.

Good Luck!
