So, I'm not the brightest guy..but I can do some things....
how in the heck is the rear wheel assembly removed ?
I removed the outside wheel, loosened the adjustment nut as far as it would go
so that the threaded rod was out of the nut....cannot remove the rest of the
assembly ??
Everything is riveted on and cannot be moved.

"what the heck" indeed!

It looks like there may be a small screw, probaby a flat head driver, in that decorative knob. Remove it and my estimate is that the knob will unscrew off the shaft it's attached to.

What's holding the rest of the wheel assembly on the other side? The rod's clearly out of the nut. And that's more likely a pin than a grub screw, and unrelated.

If I remember correctly there should be a ring in a groove on the axel shaft that holds the wheel on. It should be almost inside the hub of the wheel.

Got it

Stupid Question.....there is a threaded shaft with a slotted head holding the
wheel assembly on....removed that and removed the threaded rod...still can't remove the decorative knob...it's not a set screw..looks like just a pin driven in...oh well, not a big deal.
thanks
dave

It could be riveted on. You could drill it out and when installing use flathead screws of the same diameter.
