A couple weeks ago I went to a vac shop not too far from me and came out with these beauties. The 1cr just needed a cord and bulb, the 516 needed a switch, proper bag, and cord (and grease, but that has not been done yet). Not shown: Kirby handles, Kirby dirt meter, Original d50 cord, and 560 handi butler parts. Oh yeah, and the Bison! Yes its rough, but I was completely speechless when I saw it and it is a dream machine. The cord is chopped and I am scared of taking it apart for fear of breaking it. So once it is polished it will be a showpiece, at least for now. BTW where is the switch supposed to go? The handle? There is no holes or anything for one, just a spot where something slides in. The best part about it, the shaft is not stripped! Pic 3 is of the damage to the original cord on the 1cr.

Bison

The switch is a square housing with a variable speed rotary knob that slides on the upper handle.I think I still have 1 and 1/2 Bison and maybe a few parts.

Nice lineup,

and that's another vac shop that now knows there's still a market out there for these older cleaners. They are good at calling you when something comes in that you might be interested in too.

Awesome score - especially the Bison! That is one I would really like to gave just as a collectible. That is worth a resto.

Let me know if you need any Classic parts - just got a load of parts units. Might not have a cord though. I do have an semi-complete attachment set (less hose) if you are after some.

No no, but thank you! In fact I have a 1cr parts machine myself. I am going to make a complete cord out of the two using an exacto knife and solder. The plug on the new one is good and the rest of the cord is good on the other one (someone replaced it with a huge industrial plug). The Bison is a future resto, the cord hook is busted, height adjuster needs to be tightened, needs switch, and I have no idea if it works.
