I got this machine today from at a yard sale in my community, what caught my eye is that it's a black metal body canister with a silver hose. The lady said she brought it down from up North and uses an upright Electrolux instead, of course I gave her my card while I purchased the cleaner. It came with a certificate, an owners manual and a bunch or attachments that look brand new. Was wondering if you guys could help with some history on it. It's really dusty of course so I apologize for taking pictures before I cleaned it up. I would like to know if anybody has some history on this model, commerative edition and is something I should keep or hold on to.

I believe these were not sold. These were only given to certain Electrolux dealers IIRC. I would definitely hold onto it.

It was a prize awarded to the top Electrolux dealers in America in 1994. less than 500 made, who knows how many are still surviving. There should be a plaque on top with the salesman's name who won it. Very cool cleaner, whoever owned it had no idea of what they had and should have never let it get that damaged!

Yeah it was definitely used, it did come however with a box of tools which they never look like they were used with a sidekick, floor tool crevice and combo tool. It also came with a Electrolux caddy for the wall same color as well. The machine is in pretty good shape, sounds perfect it's just really dirty on the outside and it has some wierd rust marks on the top. Not really any on the sides or underside of the machine which I find wierd. The plaque on it says 312 and it came with an Electrolux folder with a certificate of authenticity with serial number which matches. It even has the owners manual with it. The lady said she bought it years ago while up north. I am hoping those rust marks will come off with some polish and elbow grease.

I really like that black trim. Very formal. Need to put a bowtie on it. :)

What an amazing find! You have inadvertently stumbled across what many Electrolux collectors consider the “holy grail” of Electrolux vacuum cleaners. The UltraLux Commemorative Edition! They only ever made 500 of them back in the early 90’s, so you can imagine not too many exist today. As others have said, they were never sold to the general public, but were instead awards given to top ranking salesmen and branch managers with the company. I have been lucky enough to be given the opportunity to own two of these beautiful machines. One was a special VIP award to Gary Griffin, former CEO of Electrolux (sadly passed from last I’ve heard); and the other is an unawarded machine that used to belong to Tom Gasko at the Vacuum Cleaner Museum in St. James, Missouri. Enjoy your find! It’s a fantastic machine!
