why did emerson tool company put low efficiency motors in the craftsman, workshop & ridgid 6 gallon & 9 gallon shop vacs? i feel that the ridgid wd0625 & craftsman 17741 (both are 6 gal) have more airflow (cfm) than the craftsman cmxevbe17584, workshop ws0915va & ridgid wd0670 & wd0970 vacs do

low efficiency motor from a 6 gal/9 gal vac—very little airflow/suction & high pitched noise

Emerson makes proteam backpack vacuum.
Sears went belly up. Stanley at Walmart bought rights to Craftsman. Lowe's also sales Craftsman. Lowe's tools are kobalt. Wal Mart is hyper tuff.home Depot is Ryobi. I've also only seen rigid at home Depot.
Back to the point. Sears rights were sold. This lead retailors to diversify vacuums. If you carry too many skus it confuses the customer.
It's going to have weird things like this for a few more years until they build under a new model.
