Hey
I posted about ads on Craigslist the other day in super market forum. I had a old printing block stamp. I ended up getting it in the mail yesterday.
The block has whirlw and eoc or edc. I'm guessing early 20s eureka but I'm not positive on what vacuum it's referring too. I seen in archives a newspaper clippings about general electric vacuum.
I'm guessing eureka but made by a second party like Stark vacuums today. It came from Nebraska and it just looks like the lady owned an antique store.
I also never heard of whirlwind except the super old vacuum that's could be a bellows vacuum.
I'll post a pic any info would be great.

Looks like EDC to me, the 'D' has little serif on the one side. You're probably right that it's a rebadged something or other. The rubber handle and side bag placement don't make me think of Eureka. But who knows?

I'm thinking a Royal rebrand. Eurekas looked close but the rear wheel looks like Royal/pa geier to me.

Maybe you could put some washable stamp pad ink on it and stamp it on paper and see what it looks like?

My wife is into crafts and has a stamp pad. I will do just that. It will be probably a week from Monday. Leaving in the morning for yearly vacation.

Reminds me of the German AEG Vampyr.

Looks more like a straight suction Universal to me. I have a later Whirlwind with the revolving brush that is IDENTICAL to its Universal counterpart.

I believe you are correct. I seen a universal vacuum it would be my guess.
Saturday I'll post stamp.
