Really nice,

the new bag really makes that classic pop! Do you have a fave among these three?

Billy,

The 562 Sanitronic was the first machine to feature that, while the Legend II was the last (though by the time of that machine, the shake out bag was relegated to optional status, and was also sold primarily for commercial use).

If you notice the zipper opening on the bag it's the sani pocket. Once they put hangers on the bag and not bag clamps is when they appeared. 562-classic 3 2cb.
I know Ben already know this.

Ben, Thanks again. A couple of early 500's Kirby's I have came to me with sani-scraper bags. So now I know for sure these weren't the bags that originally shipped with the cleaners. Good to know. Was the #562 the model that had the Kirby script on the head lamp lid, lit by the bulb? Thought it was a great idea and yet only one year produced, I believe. Hmmm.

D50 is model with logo on the good. It was produced 1965-1967.
It just popped in my head. I am guessing d50 was Kirby's 50th anniversary and logo could be reason it's only on d50.

Billy,

Yes... as Les pointed out, the Dual Sanitronic 50 was the only Kirby model to have the bezel on the headlight cap.

Thanks Ben and Les

That clears that up! Here's the kicker: I have a d50 but it doesn't have the lighted lid. So I must have been given someone's Frankenkirby or did they make the 50 more than one year and only the first year had the special lid? Lots of possibilities I guess. Thank you gentlemen for the info! Billy

Billy,

The DS50 had the lighted Kirby logo on the headlight cap for all 3 years of it's production. 1965 - 1967.

Hi Ben,
Have those Kirby Tradition tubes I sent you, arrived yet?
Were they undamaged? Do you like them?
