Its been a while since acquiring a vacuum... but found a good deal on a gently used Felix. I should be receiving in another week. I already have new filters and brush roll in transit. I look forward to comparing to my Miele U1. Updates to come.

Congratulations

Hey Congrats on the new Sebo Felix! I have it and the Miele S1 Upright and Love them both, but the Felix is my favorite of the two!

It’s lighter and easer to maneuver and I love all the attachments too.

Keep us posted and I can’t wait to see your pics and hear how you like it.

Patrick

Looking forward to your tests/opinion about it, I'm thinking about maybe getting one myself. Congrats!!

Any thoughts on / experiences with life-expectancy of the Felix? Anyone ever have one die on them?

I suspect the one I'm getting for a song & dance may be ~8 years old, but has very few scuffs and the owner says runs like new. I can return it if I find any flaws. I suspect it will have a good 6+ years of life left, especially since I'll have it in rotation with 2 other Mieles.

My Sebo Felix is now Five years old and it looks and runs like brand new! It’s my Daily Vacuum about 80% of the time as I love is so much. I have only changed the filters on it yearly and the “Bag” final filter three times (I change that filter by how much carbon dust is on the back). It sounds just like brand new and since I am very careful and take good care of it, I don’t see any reason why it won’t work well for me Ten plus years or more! If you don’t bang it around or abuse it.. the Felix is so well built and of quality materials, I suspect you won’t have any problems. Even if the previous owner wasn’t as careful as we collectors are, it should still be a great vacuum for many many years, in my (non-expert) personal opinion. Congrats again on a wonderful find!!

Steve.. I would highly recommend the Sebo Felix and understand I bought mine brand new, so I spent $600 for it and have absolutely NO regrets and am so glad I bought it and find it cleans and performs so well it’s worth it’s price. Now don’t get me wrong a gently used Felix would be great too and much much cheaper. I consider them similar to a Kirby in their durability, again I am NOT an expert but I am a person who has vacuumed my entire house with the Felix over 5 years now. Kirby Lovers, please don’t get upset with my comment.. I mean no disrespect. 🤗

Patrick

Also, just for those interested I put a link to Roger Lang (ibaisaic) YouTube Video on the Sebo Felix, I used the 6 year old video instead of Rogers newer Felix videos as in the new ones he is using the UK energy friendly version that is lower watts and a bit different than those her in the USA. If you are in the UK and buying a new model, check out Rogers new videos on his Sebo (Felix) Rosso for more information.

I've used the Windsor Axcess version at my school a few times, along with a Winsor Sensor S12, and I was quite impressed with both of them. I've considered getting one, but I don't have the money right now. I actually just replaced the belt on the old beat up Sensor, and it's still going strong!

I’m intrigued by vacuumtest’s Sebo to Miele filter bad adaptor. I really like Miele GN bags. How does one go about building an adaptor?

I still await the arrival of my Felix. This would be a pre-"ePower" 1300W version. I'm not sure I've seen a comparison of performance between the 1300W version and Sebo ePower (700W?) version. Anyone have any experience on actual performance differences? Is the older version just louder or does it perform better (or worse)?

Update: Felix arrived!

No pictures yet as I wait for a new external micro-filter and internal filter to arrive. In pretty good shape, but a few gouges. It is shining up pretty good. I tried a test run of the motor only to find there was clearly extreme blockage. I located it in the hose. About a 4"-6" plug of dust that took a broom handle to get out. I'm replacing the 3 filters and the brush roll. Clearly the external filter was never changed. It was pitch-black on the inside and on the plastic casing it covers. Good news is there was little dust in the internal filter walls. But the total cost for the unit (excluding the new parts I bought) was well below $200 including shipping so I suppose I cannot complain, despite the seller listing it as fully functional. Good thing I read these forums and watch the online videos how to clean up a Felix. Someone less "into" vacuums may have returned it at their own expense claiming it didn't work properly.

I sure hope you like your Felix. We just became a dealer for Felix and I've enjoyed demonstrating it to my customers. I got the red model with the colored blocks on white background bag. It's a 'step up' from the Sanitaire especially for folks with lots of bare flooring. Hope you're enjoying yours.

All my pieces parts have finally come in. This vacuum runs like a dream. As it turns out, when I was cleaning the hose I nearly cut myself as I discovered a sewing needle that was stuck from one side to the other of the hose, barely poking out on either side. It must have been what started snagging the dust to build the clot. A pair of pliers and the needle was removed without incident.

The one item that I would love to know how to repair is clearly a prior owner slammed down the vacuum top without a bag or without the bag properly in place so the metal wire that informs the vacuum whether the filter is properly in place is bent over fairly severely. I've not been able to straighten it out. I can get the top closed with the filter properly, but I need to be careful in how I do it.

Any suggestions how to improve this bent wire?

nice machine

Sounds like you have a great vacuum there. I really don't like uprights, I much prefer hose cleaners, whether that is a pull around canister, backpack, or a central vacuum unit. However, if I was ever going to get an upright it would be a felix because they have the flexibility of a canister. You can remove the power nozzle and attach a hard floor brush and I think you can use the machine as a hand held if you put the handle down. It's a well designed and well made vacuum for sure.
